consistently hitting 10-11M now. And so comfortable with Type C now I can't go back to another ship. He's such a lifesaver in Stages 3 and 4. I just need to get better at the 4th boss. I panic on him too fast and blow through my bombs.

Blue ship

4th boss, right when you can fire, go like 1/2" away from his left lazer shooter thing and use your lazer shot on it - you can get about 3 full seconds of damage before he starts firing. Then, back off and release 2 bombs on the same spot (the left lazer). That will eliminate it from firing at you and you only have to focus on his charge and the other lazer.

I know it isn't how the pros would suggest you do, but it's working for me.

Same. I did want to use one of the other ships just to be a rebel...because everyone uses the blue ship. But in reality, just can't make do without those wide shots...

Meanwhile. Made it to stage 5 boss for the 1st time...and broke 20mil... Yay for a couple days' break...

Right now I'm getting about 8 million at best on the Saturn version, but I haven't played this game in like 3 years. I think my espgaluda and mars matrix runs are helping me survive this game better than I did before though. I need to fire up MAME, but it's a lot of motivation for me to tate that monitor and find the right adaptors for my arcade stick. The saturn was already hooked to my tated TV.

Edit 12-23:

Finally got to stage 5. Died right as I got to the boss.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Hell yes! 8)

Been playing this game for over a year and finally got the first loop clear. Didn't meet the 2nd loop requirements this time, but I think I can pull it off.

Outstanding, Chaz!

What are the loop requirements again? All bees and a 330+ chain? If it's that, i'd have a very small, like >1% chance. If it is no bomb first loop...well then, forget it entirely.

Great job d0od@!

According to Wikipedia,

2nd loop is accessible by completing the first 6 areas on 1 credit and fulfilling one of the following requirements:

- Loses at most 2 fighters (lives).

- Depending on the fighter used, have a maximum hit count of at least the following:

Type A: 270 hits
Type B: 300 hits
Type C: 330 hits

- Score at least 50 million points at the end of the area 6.

- Collect all 13 bees in four of the six areas.

^Thanks!

I think the 330 w/blue is my best bet...assuming I can even get to the stage 6 boss again. There are a few areas in stages 4-5 where I get 240+ chains and with more practice at not dropping them at the large enemies, I might have a very small outside shot.

Hoping to get at this again before month-end.
