So which Tales game would you guys say is the best on the PS2? I haven't played a Tales game since Phantasia / Destiny / Symphonia, and I can imagine it's still a series I could probably really get behind. I wonder if I should start with one of the PS2 ones or jump on board with one of the newer ones (I also wouldn't be sure where to start there).

I personally can't comment on any of the PS2 ones, but the PS3 ones I've played were really good.
Vesperia I nearly finished but lost steam for whatever reason, but I loved it. Old school vibes going on big time. The combat system and the music were standout aspects for me, there were some good characters too and the anime vibe was a plus. I'm pretty certain you'd enjoy it. I'd say the weak point was the story, I didn't really care about what was going on at any point in the game. The combat is so engaging and often challenging though, it's what kept me going. I only played the demo for Graces, but the combat system was even deeper so I know it will deliver there. Xilia I haven't played at all yet.

Yeah I'm kind of leaning towards Graces F (PS3), but I'm not sure. I've had a knack of never finishing a Tales game either though, haha. And the stories never do sound all that great (although the three I played were cool enough there), but yeah the anime vibe and all that would be a plus for me. Just dying for a newer JRPG lately, so I might have to finally take the plunge.
