Homura is very fun. One of my favorite PS2 shmups.

I can also confirm that Crimzon Clover runs great in a wine wrapper and in Parallels. I'll be playing via Parallels because sometimes I have arcade stick issues via wine wrapper.

Sorry dsh, but I think I might cave again. (Queue noise's joke.) Mike made me an offer I just couldn't refuse. Like, seriously. (Ballz everywhere!)

Wait, so Mike is seriously sending people stuff to change their vote? That's not a very nice thing to do.

Yes, but it's still easy to procure. In fact, all three of mine are cheap.

Incidentally, Sapphire is in the lead, and there's a tie between Blue Hawk/Homura.

My votes!!

Dave's list: Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire (Heard great things about this!)

Tyranix95's list: 19XX (It's like Megaman years a hundred years earlier)

mjmjr25: Cotton 100% (better than 90%)

dunpeal2064: Rapid Hero (A true classic)

pierrot: xexex (Can't pronounce it, must be good.)

Foxhound: Raiden 4 (Loved the hell out of Raiden 3)

ExedExes: 1943 Kai (Kai was my favorite character in the original Gundam)

o.pwuaioc: Star Soldier (The future of being a soldier in space. I am in)

EllertMichael: Dooyong's Blue (First word looks like 'dong'. Sounds fun!)

hashiriya1: Fire Shark (When Sharks overcome the need for water, we're all fucked)

noiseredux: Castle of Shikigami II (Given the insanely coherent and moving story this game series has, I feel that it would be necessary to select this game to show proper respect to the SHMUP genre and recognize it for the story telling medium it is).
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I like to think that that's the greatest determining factor in a game's quality.

Good choice, though. Also, you can pronounce it like 'Zechs-X.'

But then it loses its meaning! (Advice, never say "muchi muchi" to a tubby Japanese girl)
