I think it's pretty good. More fun than I thought it'd be. Maybe not as good as the Pacman CE update, but close. I agree, the satellite system is unique and fun. I was probably sold when I changed to the 'vintage' skin.

I see where they were trying to go with it. Not sure it's really for me. I would have preferred more of a "champ edition" approach where you take the basic skills from the original and amp up the situation and add in some chain scoring or score multipliers.

Glad to see Namco and others doing more of these kinds of updates though. I'll wait it out until Dig Dug Extreme is announced...

I doubt that'll ever come. They've basically transitioned over to the Mr. Driller franchise. Mr. Driller was originally going to be Dig Dug 3.

Is Mr. Driller any good? I played the XBLA demo and it seemed like it could get pretty cool but the demo just didn't show me enough. The bad reviews about the online stuff kind of tainted it, too, even though I don't play too much online.

I haven't actually played Mr. Driller. I read those reviews too. I think it was Raztat who was talking about liking that game, and he mentioned that the online function had been fixed.
