So the thread about rare/valuable Wii games has me thinking about Nintendo's other "one foot out the door" system. What do folks expect to be rare and valuable in the way of DS games?
My list:
Ace Attorney series - aside from the original Phoenix Wright, which has been reprinted several times
Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage!? *collectors edition* - it just came out a few weeks ago but apparently sold out instantly. I assume the regular edition will be pretty common though.
Dragon Quest IV and V
Infinite Space
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (I can see this one developing a cult following down the line.)
Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road
What other ones are out there? Anyone disagree with my guesses?

Dragon Quest IV is rare? I remember seeing that game everywhere long after it came out.

The Dark Spire.
The Etrian Odyssey games at the moment but they are getting reprints soon.
I had three copies of Adventure Time Collector's Edition and flipped 2 of them for $80 a pop so I can confirm that one.

I havent been trying hard to get one, but I do belive this game is/will be hard to get.

Also a reason why this game will be hard to find is there on the bottom right.
Hopefully soon, I'll get one. I just dont want it cart only.

Interesting note about this one: importing may be a cheap way to get yourself a copy. DS has no region locking, and I was able to buy a brand new copy and have it shipped from Europe for under $20 earlier this year. Prices for Infinite Space in North America are a bit crazy though.Nemoide wrote:So the thread about rare/valuable Wii games has me thinking about Nintendo's other "one foot out the door" system. Add Fritz Chess to your list. I was lucky enough to pick up two used copies for $10 locally, pretty crazy considering the second-hand prices.

Re: Rare/valuable DS games?
There are very few games I think will hold value, certainly not Phoenix Wright, it's too popular. Some that probably will:
Osu Tatake Ouendan! & OTO2
Pokémon Heartgold/Soulsilver
Taiko no Tatsujin DS 1,2,3
The Dark Spire
Etrian Odyssey 1,2,3
My world, my way looks fun, but being a JRPG turns me off

Not rare, valuable. There are millions and millions of copies of Pokémon, it isn't rare by any stretch.SNKnicotine wrote:I most definitely, think that that the following games are going to be rare:
