Yeah, I've had a few games for the Dreamcast go the way of the dodo even when they look perfectly fine. Oddly enough it happens to every single copy of Virtua Striker 2 I've ever picked up. I kept buying cheap copies of it as my Dad played it a ton at one time, but the discs kept dying. I've also had Virtua Tennis 2 and a Japanese import copy of Airforce Delta die the same way. They'd all get past the Sega logo, blip, and go back to the Bios. GD-Roms tend to be weaker than CDs, so maybe thats why.

Happens every so often. Either laser gets weaker or the condensed portion of the disc goes bad. GD-ROM being a unique format has umm its weaknesses.

Turned out rather pointless though since their security system had that major weakness. I'm surprised no officially released games came out on cd-rom. Probably because there are a few systems that don't even read music cd's (the pink sakura taisen system i think is one of them).
