I like the GBA SP. It was my first system I ever had ( I hadn't even started school yet). Also because it is backlit (the one my parents got me turns out to be the AGS-101), and that it has a rechargeable battery instead of AAs or AAAs. THe only con is that there is no headphone jack. No listening to Pokemon Emerald!!!

Your FAVORITE GAMEBOY system (poll)
Here is a poll for your favorite game system. Please say why you like that one too.

^You have to get the special headphones (note to self: add this to want list!).
It too is my favorite, but I really don't like how it feels in my hands. Otherwise, it would win easily.

Re: Your FAVORITE GAMEBOY system (poll)
I chose the SP as well.
Although all have their good and bad parts.
You played with the brick, cause you didnt know any better. Assume proper viewing angle!
The Pocket was nice although somewhat blurry. And Back then the AAA batteries were hard to come by.
Gameboy Color was just a pokemon machine.
The first gameboy advance was nice too. Better graphics, and SHOULDER BUTTONS!But it was bad in low sunlight.
The Sp was nice and you could fold it. No more scratches on the screen! But like you said, no headphone jack made it a little weird. And why have the option to remove backlighting?
And the micro eh? have you even played one?

Re: Your FAVORITE GAMEBOY system (poll)
Glad to see a poll on this, although I don't think I can vote yet. I am starting to get into Gameboys I think. I found a Gameboy color for free at a thrift store and am going get the LED light cover thing. I think I am going to start with original and color games, and then move on to the Gameboy Advance SP from there. I know most people will say to just ditch the GB color and get the SP, but I figured I will give it a try since I want to start with the older games anyway. So far I got me a pretty good list of games to try. Now I just have to wait for payday to get some games besides Harry Potter that came with the system. Oh why do I only get paid every 2 weeks.
I was looking at games and I would love to get the Castlevania games. It seems Adventure and Belmont's Revenge are listed as having GB color releases but I can't seem to find any actual copies anywhere, could the info be false?

Re: Your FAVORITE GAMEBOY system (poll)
The AGS-101 SP was the best Game Boy except for the lack of a proper headphone jack (rectified with a converter).
Great backlight, rechargeable battery and great compatibility. Along with the Game Boy Player it's the only thing I really play Game Boy games on these days.
The old unlit models are nostalgic but they're not a lot of fun to play on anymore. That said I still occasionally crack out the Game Boy Pocket. I always thought it was a really nice looking machine for some reason. Sleek and simple.

I'm probably in the minority of people who actually enjoy the Micro. I still have my Famicom Micro from when I originally bought it.
IDK, it just feels right; almost like a NES controller w/ shoulder buttons.

Yeah, I have been trying to as much research as possible in the last few days tying to set up my gaming plan. Of course that is half the fun right. The Castlevania Color games, if they exist, are still boggling my mind, can anyone confirm if they were released?someone3760 wrote: Its fun to get into gameboys. I also don't like all the bootleg talk I am reading about on the Advance games. I have seen Aria of Sorrows with two different labels and am wondering witch one could be a boot or if they are both legit. The amount of boots I have read about in the past few days has got me kinda scared of the GB Advance games.
