How does that flag remind anyone of northern dissent?
What do you see as the distinction between "heritage" and "history" and what is it you feel would be list in regards to either by banning the flag from a school?
I stated that in a poor way. The fight was for States rights over that of the federal on certain issues, an idea that this country was originally built on.
When most people think of the flag, they see dumb rednecks and racists, they, often, then turn to bad mouthing the south, ignoring the fact that many northerners were also pro slavery. History books tend to skew in a way that makes the north seem like a cohesive anti slavery group when they were just the opposite.
My family fought under that flag. If my son or daughter wasn't wanted to proudly display the symbol, then they should. I don't care if it offends anyone. I don't get mad at the proud communists and all the bad shit we've seen done in communism. Why should anyone get mad at this?
