Well, yeah. Maybe. I don't know how Rare's rights would work out or if they have the same rights in all territories.

This is just weird.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I definitely think it's just a case of Rare owning rights to the programs, and the license to have them up on VC is expiring and Nintendo doesn't care to have them renewed for an obsolete platform.

Nothing else makes any sense.

Going to agree with the theory that the license around the DKC games being put on virtual console expired. Likely some deal was involved where Rare gets royalties from the DKC games despite not flat out owning them, and there has to be some negotiation now that a contract inspired.

The kremlin and cast of characters dont make sense, Nintendo owns DKC and DKC characters have appeared in many Nintendo games. Kremlins were in the latest Mario baseball game, and countless Kongs have appeared all over the place.

I assume we will see a Wii U bundle like the Kirby rehash we got on the Wii.

Man, I totally forgot RARE was still around, it's hard to believe it's been 10-11 years since they released a game on a Nintendo platform. Their games just don't fit in with Microsoft, it's too bad to see so much talent go to waste. They're focusing on Kinect games now :/.

To be fair there really isn't much talent left at Rare anymore, since most of the guys from the glory days are gone.

They're either gone, or off making crap like Haze.
