 at people who can't read and are suggesting various games that he has access to on arcade (like he clearly said). I mean... the Konami shooters like the Gradius, Parodius, Twinbee and Salamander games are all on arcade PCBs and are superior to the Saturn ports. Magical Drop is on Neo, and so is Puzzle Bobble... I guess not everyone realizes that. I too looked at his list and thought, "wow, he is missing A LOT." But... a lot of the great Saturn games, especially shooters, fighters and puzzle games, are also on various arcade systems.

I know you've had a few things recommended for you, but I'll double up on the suggestion of Super Tempo. Cool platformer. :)

Most of my capcom games on the list were purchased before I picked up my CPS2.

Hehe, you can't own just one CPS2, silly.... :P

I was referring to the A-board, but even then, I have two of them - a USA one and a grey Asian model. It doesn't matter, however, because I only buy phoenixed CPS2 boards and those remove the region lock.

Great recommendation on Super Tempo, btw. I have the 32X version and enjoy it quite a bit.

There are a couple shooters on the Saturn that never saw an arcade release.

Blast Wind (Feels like an arcade shooter, by Technosoft. Its a vertical scrolling shooter, but in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Has branching paths with different bosses. Overall pretty good)

Steam Heart's (Hentai shooter ported from the PC Engine and PC98. The Saturn port has the hentai toned down, but the actual game is very different from the PC Engine version. Not the best game ever, but worth checking out)

There are also more Sega STV ports that are really good:

Soukyugurentai (By Raizing, vertical scrolling 4:3 ratio, with a locking mechanism similar to Rayforce.Glalctic Attack. Very good)

Guardian Force (This one is unique, a sort of tank shoot em up. Its at least worth checking out)

Shienryu (A sort of remake of Diaoh. Feels a lot like Raiden, with crazy weapons like Batsugun. The game is a bit on the easy side, as far as shooters are concerned, but its still a really fun game)

Cotton 2/Cotton Boomerang (Horizontal Cute 'em ups that I don't have too much experience with. I think Cotton 2 can be improved via use of a 4mg cart, but is playable without it. Cotton Boomerang is usually the more loved of the two, and is supposed to have fighting game-style button inputs for certain moves. I'd definitely check em out.)

If I think of any more I'll post em, I only really know about the Saturn's shooter library though.

^i was trying to think of the shooters that didn't come out of the arcades before. I didn't realize that a lot of those you mentioned weren't in the arcades. Could also add Macross to that list, although it's not that great a game.

I had a total mental lapse with Magical Drop, and Puzzle Bobble; completely forgot that they were on the Neo Geo.

Just in case you weren't already aware, Super Tempo is a separate game in the series, not a remake.

I'm relieved to know that you have Shinobi anyway. Pretty nice looking Saturn collection, also. I hope you'll put together a collection post in the game room section some time. Sounds like you have some nice stuff.

Instantly sold! I'll check out Steam Hearts, too.

As for collection pics - I'll snap a few pics later today. A few of the games in the OP are on their way in the mail, though. Christmas presents to myself with my bonus check. I'll snap a pic again after christmas to showcase all my new loot, too. Among the stuff coming in the mail is Psychic Killer Taroumaru, which has me squirming in my seat with excitement.

Some may argue if the price tag is worth it, but Crows is a pretty fun beat-em-up.

Along that same line of thought, there's also Nekketsu Oyako.

Also, a game that I kind of forgot about (not positive that it wasn't released in the arcades, though) and is a pretty interesting, obscure 2d fighter: Rabbit.
