Regardless of the rest of the situation, a shove maybe wasn't the best response, but a punch to the face hard enough to knock out a tooth was absolutely uncalled for. What if he had just gone to the restroom or the bar for a second?

could be the case i guess. maybe the girl should have handled the situation from the get go. i know when i was clubbing every girl alone on the dance floor was fair game. and if someone just comes and shoves me, considering i'd be drinking, game on. :) :)

Nope, I was right there with her. The shove was more to create some distance. The guy was so close he was practically dry humping her & she was clearly very uncomfortable.

Pretty much this. Probably I shouldn't have shoved the guy, but it wasn't intended to start a fight, it was just a 'get off of her, she doesn't want you here' kind of thing. I didn't have a chance to say that though, because he punched me right away. I'm certainly no fighter, I'm not the type to try and start something like that. I'm a wimp iof anything. :(

Ticked: A friend said I "helped" kill 20 kids because I myself own handguns. And according to him anyone who owns a gun is partly responsible for the massacre.

Yup. To quote him:

"If you own a gun and are a member of the NRA, and you send them money, you're partly to blame because they're the lobby that makes sure that laws having to do with bans, access, taxes, surcharges, control laws, etc. are blocked."

Somehow that equates to I'm partly responsible and had a direct impact in the massacre.

Yeeesh. Guess this also makes me "partly responsible" by default. Sad that he feels this way. :(
