Re: Best PC exclusive games of the last ten years or so?
I don't know who to thank first. Lots of awesome info in this thread. I just downloaded that free copy of Civ 5 my friend sent me. So that's a start, and I'm considering Starcraft 2 as I actually did play the original one years ago. It's fun taking a crash course in PC gaming through this thread. I should point out that I'm not opposed to multi plat games on PC. It's just that I feel like I already know what all the popular multi-platform games are. So I'm curious about PC exclusive stuff. I just want to know what kinds of experiences I would never have had if I had never gotten a decent gaming PC

You have roughly 12 hours to go to gog.com and buy The Witcher 2 for $7.50.
I'm not sure what ties this list together or if I can even justify all the inclusions/exclusions, but this just feels like a very PC list of games to me... whatever that means. I just know that if this was your collection, most PC gamers would look at it and go "Niiiice"

Done. Though I probably won't play it until after I eventually get the first Witcher game. Thanks for that list, might have to get some PC games for the holiday (and a Vita if I'm lucky). I already had Zeno Clash on both Steam and the Xbox 360 before I even made this thread, beat 'em up fan that I am:)J T wrote:You have roughly 12 hours to go to gog.com and buy The Witcher 2 for $7.50.
That's an awesome list. Thanks. This thread is VERY helpful
The trailer for that looked awesome and the MUSIC. Wow!Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Don't forget Ys Origin.
An another note, I played a demo for Trine 2 on Steam today. It's not actually a PC exclusive anymore, but damn, what an impressive game!

You know I forgot about that game, just picked it up off GOG, along with Trine. GOG games are cheap as shit. It's greatJ T wrote:

First one is/was on sale as well for $2.49 (couple hours left at time of post).Gamerforlife wrote: Done. Though I probably won't play it until after I eventually get the first Witcher game.
Not like it's a terribly expensive game either way, and given that CD Projekt Red is behind both the Witcher games and GoG, it's not uncommon to see it on sale.

Re: Best PC exclusive games of the last ten years or so?
All of these games are non-indie, PC-exclusive, and have (cheap) physical releases.
Trine - A beautiful puzzle/platformer where you switch between different characters, somewhat reminiscent of Lost Vikings.
Dungeons - Decent strategy title, spin-off from the Dungeon Keeper series.
Darkspore - Futuristic sci-fi action-RPG. Loosely related to the games of the Spore series. A fair bit of warning: there is DRM that requires a constant internet connection.
Brave Soul - A eroge Diablo-clone JRPG. Definitely an acquired taste, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Torchlight - Another great Diablo-clone.
Dungeons & Dragons Anthology: The Master Collection - Absolutely essential! Contains six games and expansion packs. Unfortunately, this seems to have gone out-of-print rather quickly (at least according to Amazon).
Any of the Neverwinter Nights collections - more D&D goodness.
Hinterland: Orc Lords - A cheap and fun strategy, RPG, and town-building game.
Disciples II: Dark Prophecy & Disciples III: Renaissance - Pretty fun turn-based strategy games. II is a bit better than III in my opinion. The 3rd one also required a lot of patches to get it up and running, as I recall.
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition - One of the most engrossing WRPGs I've ever played.

Because I only just arrived to the thread. Yes, the Sam & Max games are great, and I believe GOG sells them as well.SamuraiMegas wrote:Why the f has no one mentioned Sam and Max?
