Don't let the door...
 What major was he supposedly pursuing?
Communication Studies. It was a methods class (they are usually unpopular in almost any major anyway), so at least he got out fairly early on by recognizing he couldn't understand some of the methods used in the discipline. He'd have had a hell of a time in 300 and 400 level classes anyway...

Or maybe he just hated me.

:D : should be about 90% done grading by the end of tonight
:( : which clears my schedule to begin doing massive amounts of writing tomorrow and Friday and for the next six weeks

also...

:D : I picked up a new Otomedius Excellent CE for less than $20. You can too.
 : I now own the two-sided pillowcase that comes with it. How long until I become this guy?

Honestly dsheinem, I feel kind of bad for your student. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually has some deep-seated issues and your class was just a stressor. I say this because I've had many a student who told me to "fuck off" only to find out the poor kid was abused at home, was an alcoholic, whatever...

Or I could be wrong and he could just be an asshole!

As for dat pillowcase... I've had to hide it from my wife. She wants to open it.

I got the game minus the pillow case off of Amazon the other day. Still feel super creepy when people see the damn thing. I was thinking it'd be more Gradius and less...what it is. Still an awesome game! Co-op sometime? (I think it has that feature).

Frown: So tired. Long day at work and a company Christmas party tonight. Got to go in early tomorrow to prepare a presentation for someone who wants to understand some of the funding my organization is getting. Not a huge deal but I literally found out about it as I was walking out the door.

Smile: Liking this girl of mine so damn much.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

:D Got my unemployment worked out, but...

:( I gotta wait until Sunday to file my first weekly certification (I do it online) at the earliest (if I do it Sunday, I usually get it on Monday), so what I've got right now is all I've got until next week. But...

:D Since I've worked two jobs this summer, I should get more than I did last winter.

:) I also got $20 for an old portable DVD player.

:( Tried to pawn some stuff (old games, old DVDs) at the new pawn shop in my town, but they were only gonna give me a buck apiece for each game and DVD. He'd sell them for $5 each, but I figure even used I could possibly get more than $1 and in some cases more than what he would've gotten for them.

 My sleep cycle's out of whack. Most nights I stay up all night then fall asleep around noon and sleep to just before dark.

You do know you will only receive unemployment benefits for two weeks right? All unemployment benefits in all 50 states ends 12/29/2012. Sorry to inform you that you have two weeks to find a job.

Enlighten me. Surely hufpo and cnn wouldn't lie to their audience would they?

Update 11/28/12: To date, there is no pending legislation to renew federal unemployment benefits for 2013. There is also no news on whether extended unemployment benefits will be part of a "fiscal cliff" deal between the President and Congress.

Update 11/24/12: House Democrats are asking Congress to consider an extension prior to the holidays to avoid millions of unemployed workers falling off the unemployment cliff at the end of year. Without an extension all federal (EUC) benefits will expire on December 29, 2012.

Update 11/12/12: Unless Congress passes legislation that would provide federal extended unemployment benefits for 2013, there will be no unemployment compensation beyond the 26 week maximum state unemployment benefits next year.

Unemployment benefits are (potentially) changing at the end of the year failing new legislation, but the claim that "there's only 2 weeks left" or that "no one in the country gets unemployment after 12/31" is just incorrect.
