I normally use Utopia to play my imports, however im a lazy man, and i dont like alternating from VGA to RCA when i want to play a import games (since utopia isn't VGA compatible).
So i inquire: what are some VGA compatible boot discs?

i've had no problem using utopia for vga games, you just don't get a picture untill the game itself loads. Hit the power button, wait a while, swap discs and go.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

I use the Cheats & Codes sampler disc. It's made by the people who made the Gameshark. It's very simple, boot up the system, swap, click start and go. I've never had a problem with it.
I remember I paid a penny for it when the Dreamcast stuff was getting cleared out, back before EB Games got bought out by Gamestop. Those were the days...

This is the vga version of the utopia boot disc. Indeed, you see no image, but it works!skate323k137 wrote:i've had no problem using utopia for vga games, you just don't get a picture untill the game itself loads. Hit the power button, wait a while, swap discs and go.
Search for vga boot disc dreamcast.

I usually use utopia. I have a codebreaker i bought for pso to play on schtserv a few years back. I got lazy and bought a jp system for my imports so i didn't have to use a boot disc. I still use utopia for evil twin though. bugs and all that game is cool.

Why do you need a boot disk for the dreamcast? All my DC burns boot on their own.

Yep. I can't print box inserts, manuals and stuff as pretty as manufacturers can. Its important to me.racketboy wrote:To boot legit copies of imports...

I would buy a japanese system, but i really only have a few imports...so its really not worth it.
And you can play legitimate imports on in VGA using it?josekortez wrote:I use the Cheats & Codes sampler disc. It's made by the people who made the Gameshark. It's very simple, boot up the system, swap, click start and go. I've never had a problem with it.
Whenever ive attempted to boot an import with utopia using whatever "swap plugs" method, or normally, i've only ever gotten audio.skate323k137 wrote:i've had no problem using utopia for vga games, you just don't get a picture untill the game itself loads. Re: What Dreamcast boot-disk do you use?
I use a Utopia boot disk from time to time, but it really is easier just to burn a self-booting backup and use that. Is it cheating if the game I backup is still sealed? ...probably.
