Next For Next Together Retro: Jet Grind Radio
Re: Next For Next Together Retro: Jet Grind Radio
How far did you get into it?ott0bot wrote:I've tried to like this game for years, but I'm still not a fan. I beat it when it came out and kinda felt like "ok good, now I'll never have to play that again." I recently played it again to give it another chance...but nope. It's not for me.
I love the look all cell shaded and stylized. The menu's are great too. But I can't stand *gasp* the music!! It drives me nuts. Plus I'm not a fan of rollerblading or tagging. Good graffiti and spray paint illustration can be awesome, but I hate people who just spray there name on everything. I don't like the controlls either and the levels feel bland to me.
I didn't dig it when it came out, and still don't now. I know this game is a classic and all, sorry to be a naysayer.

heh. i mentioned that. I don't know what it is....but I just don't feel the love. I've owned it like 3 times...but always end up selling it after I attempt to play it again.ott0bot wrote: I beat it when it came out and kinda felt like "ok good, now I'll never have to play that again."

Re: Next For Next Together Retro: Jet Grind Radio
Sweet. I don't mind having another play-through of the game. I must have completed this game about 3 times now. (twice on the Japanese original I got on import when it first came out) and again when I stumbled on a copy of Jet Grind Radio for cheap in HMV when they were getting rid of their entire stock of DC games around 2002ish (£1.99 :O, I could hardly carry it to the checkout I was so happy I found it at such a bargainous price). My DC's collection grew quite considerable when HMV decided to jettison their stock hehe!
Thanks again for the soundtrack NeoRage (I thanked you in the download section as well). I love that soundtrack, it's awesome.
Jet Set Radio is definitely one of the defining games of the dreamcast along with Shenmue ikaruga etc. It's such an immensely stylish game that still looks awesome today.
One of the first games to heavily use the Cel-shaded style that so many games in the late 90s to early 2000 copied.
Ahh Sega, such a trendsetter... *has hazy daydream of first unboxing my DC and cranking Sonic Adventure out* No other console has ever given me that feeling of amazement when the system was first switched on since.

No problem! If we play JSRF I'll put that soundtrack on here also.
Can't wait to play this again! If you have your system hooked into surround sound (Or big speakers) the music really sucks you in while you play!

Jet Grind Radio is awesome, I've played through it twice already and probably will at least a third time. It's definitely not only one of my favourite games on the Dreamcast, but one of my favourite games on any platform.
