Recommend me a wallet or post yours.

Post by chupon »

I usually get a new wallet every year. I'm hard on my wallets meaning I wear them out quick. Probably from the loads of cash I usually try and stuff in them  . So I'm shopping this weekend at an outlet mall and checked out wallets in tons of stores. All total I probably spent about 20 minutes flipping through wallets in 4 stores. I wasn't happy with any of them and just walked away disappointed.

Then I started thinking what am I even looking for? What makes a good wallet? What do I need? I still haven't figured that out yet but I'm hoping this thread will take off. Give me something to consider or tell me what you love about your wallet. Maybe that'll help me make up my mind or clue me into some nice online wallet store.

For the last year I've been rocking a Kenneth Cole black bi-fold leather wallet. She's served me well but is worn the fuck out - really loose and flabby. Gotta trade her in for something nice and tight if you know what I mean.

What the hell are you doing that you kill them after a year? Geez man. I've had my current one for over 15 years. I posted it here in the 'pockets' thread.

I have a couple of Fossil wallets I got at their outlet store that I'm quite fond of. They've got a piece of elastic around them that keep things inside if it gets too fat, and they're nice and durable. Or, at least for me they're durable. If you're going through one a year, I've no idea how long they'll last you

I just changed my wallet that I've been using for almost 10 years now.
It smelled like a butt.

I went tri-fold and I'll never look back. Much more comfortable IMO
I'm using one of these bad boys. (it smells like leather)
My biggest gripe with it is getting my license out of the clear plastic sleeve in the odd times I need to.

I wish I still had the wallet I had when I was a kid. It was a blue Super Mario tri-fold with velcro and one of those pictures that animates as you tilt it. Mario picking up a mushroom and holding it above his head. So cool. I can't even find a picture of it online :?

And thus answers the eternal question, "Does EllertMichael keep his wallet in his front or back pocket?"

Normally I buy leather wallets but a couple months back I bought a Swiss Gear wallet from Target and it seems constructed well enough.

I usually take good care of my wallets, so they last a while. Currently Im using a typical bi-fold wallet, that has a little window/flip up section for an ID. Also, it's awesome(r) because its a NES controller. I bought it at Gamestop a couple years ago and since then I havent seen them in stock, and even Gamestop employees ask where I got it. I've seen one similar to it at Best Buy now, but it's not the same. It's thinner and cheaper made from what I can tell.

You wouldn't believe how many comments I get on it when paying for stuff. Especially from cute female wait staff. (the wife hates that lol).

I can never tell ahead of time if pictures will post, so here's a straight url to a picture of it. NES wallet. I think mine is the leather version, but the gamepad part of it is rubber.

If I could find a tri-fold wallet that was NEON GREEN with black stitching and borders that was a velcro version for adults, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I love those things.
