Odd. Everything I tired worked great, but maybe that's just the luck of the draw.

I haven't played a Supaboy but in my experience SNES clones are generally "acceptable" in terms of quality. The sound is sometimes out of whack but that shouldn't be a huge issue if you're using it for its portability.

Still you've got to consider how portable a clunky thing that plays SNES cartridges is truly going to be. If that's an issue the PSP is worth considering instead.

Portability isn't a huge deal for me, since I'll be playing any handheld only when I have time to sit down or what not.

One question I do have though, is how easy is it to put emulators on the PSP? I've googled around and I'm not getting a clearcut process.

That might be the tipping point.

You have to soft mod the PSP and to do that requires a 1000 or 2000 model.

3000's are out eh?

Well that saves some money I suppose. It's not like...hard though? I just wouldn't want to mess anything up if I did go this route. Or like, be unable to play normal UMD's or something.

Holy mis-information in this thread.

I have a Green SLIM 3000 and i have it modded with CFW 6.60, its so easy to install, its as simple as putting the file on the PSP memory stick and opening it.

Also im going to go against Mr Popo here and say play some games that were more main-stream they all work great.

Super Mario RPG runs!, Link to the Past, Secret Of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Super Castlevania IV, Final Fantasy 3, etc...

As for Japanese, i cant say for the Fire Emblem game that Mr Popo played, but Treasure Hunter G freezes for me after leaving the intro house.

Also you won't have to pay for carts.

So, if you're only playing when you have time to sit down, why get the portable at all?

Well I mean I could play on a car/train/plane for sitting down. Plus I'd have the cartridges for home whenever I want, as well as actually owning the cartridges, giving me a nice fuzzy feeling right in the collection.

Still, convenience is making a pretty strong case here.
