How do you display your controllers and accesories>>?

Corded controllers either get wrapped up and put on the bookcase or sit hooked up to their console. Wireless controllers just kinda hang around on the couch.

I have waaaaaay too many controllers to possibly display them, but I can show my storage. Pictures taken about a year ago, but not too much has been added since then.



Had to cut down the rack at the bottom myself, which is where I store all the standard controllers. There's not much room left if I get any more consoles.



In fact, there's not much room left if I get anymore controllers period.

I have one of those over-the-closet-door holder things with a bunch of pockets.

I thought I would like it at first, but I'm really not a fan. It's cumbersome and makes the door much harder to open.

Closet maid shoe shelves from Target. Organized chronologically (for the most part) so it's easy to find what I need. They can also be stacked, but then I would just look silly


Joysticks are a completely different pain. I have (2) 48" wall shelves I made (one below the other), but they held very few sticks. Hardly worth using up the display space. I gave up on showing off all my sticks. Honestly, produced more weird looks than "oohs and aahhs"

Soooo....Just bought this from lowes ($80), along with a $20 set of casters. I'm keeping it in my unfinished portion. When I need something, I'll roll it out.

I use plastic shoe boxes, an ideal size to store a few controllers and not an overwhelming tangled mess. The folding stackable shoe boxes have a flexible durable plastic. This is handy for squeezing in just one more odd shaped controller into a box. Each box can be used to store a set of controllers for a specific game console. Boxes can also be designated to house just lightguns, cables or special adapters. Another very beneficial gain is the remote sensor for a given wireless controller is no longer misplaced, both are kept in the same compact box.

Oh, it's not as deep as it looks. It's general purpose storage under the stairs in our basement. The second picture is the same depth. We renovated our basement over a year ago. I have a thread on VGG with pictures, for anyone curious, but perhaps I'll make an updated thread here in the next few weeks, since I've added some artwork since then.

For extra controllers, WClem and I just use the big see through storage containers with attached bi-fold lids, and each holds a different console controllers and cables. All of the cords/cables are bundled with rubber bands so they don't tangle, and each bin is clearly marked. I like how they stack neatly as to take up less space if stacked from floor to ceiling. At this time, we have 8 of these containers, I believe.

For the systems we have hooked up, the controllers (corded) stay hooked up and neatly stored with the system. The cordless controllers are stored usually on the tables next to the couch.

I really liked the shoe cubby idea! We have so many controllers, though, and we would have to have them floor to ceiling and wall to wall!

We dont strive to display alot of accessories, as it takes away from being able to display more games. We do, however, have knick-knacks and game-related "swag" scattered about the house.

I completely agree with displaying games over controllers - in theory. But now that I think about it, I guarantee my controllers would get more conversation out of visitors than the games would. For most of the games I have, people need to be familiar with them to comment on them, and I don't have any friends that are as obsessed or as retro-minded as I am. My controllers, on the other hand, are extremely diverse and unique. The Steel Battalion controller is certainly more of a conversation starter than any game I have displayed, or my Pop'n Music or IIDX ASCs, or my train and plane controllers, etc. But lord, who has that much display space?
