Not even trying to chain, even on Stage 1! Getting the Max Bomb multiplier probably boosted the score a bit through Stage 2 and 3, but I start bombing when I get to the Stage 3 boss. I'm not actually sure what stage I got the 280 chain on...

Stage 5 is pretty intense, but I found the boss significantly easier than stage 4 boss.

I think dunpeal is right, so long as you kill every piece of the ship on stage 3, the 1up is there. Doesn't matter whether shot / laser / bomb.

After playing a couple hours this week on PCB and SAT, I feel they are very close and could be on the same score sheet. I have not noticed any stray bullets, any slowdown, or any areas where chains break differently. If anything, the MAME/PCB should be separated as there are more differences between those than exist between SAT/MAME.

^Miiiiiiike. Wow. Amazing jump in score dood. Good for you. I have some serious catching up to do. Tried tonight, but wasn't in me. Kept dying Stage 2 like a chump. Or rather losing 2 lives in Stage 2 and giving up pissed.

That youtube vid I pm'd you put the game in a whole new light. Stage 3 went from impossibly hard...to cake until the boss.

Stage 4 boss...if I can avoid losing 2 lives on him every run, I have a chance at a clear of first loop, but he is giving me fits. This last run I just bomb / bomb / bomb, die, bomb, bomb, bomb and got through. Was much better than my previous strategy of trying to avoid his dodge and big side lazers.

Improvement --

ExedExes - 14,155,710 - Area 4 - 181 - Type C (Laser) - MAME

Image

Achievements --

Unprecedented hit streak before Area 1 miniboss, finally figured out how to chain past 70!

Image

Also managed to time the circular boss objects to get the extra stars, thanks to whoever pointed it out. It made my hit streak go down a bit, but it improved my Area 1 score -

Image

Finally no missed Area 2 at maximum earning the 181 streak there before boss, getting extremely lucky that the final shots were those tiny blue lasers.

Image

And the result -

Image

Finally, after blowing everything up on that Area 3 ship (and getting the extend), finished off with a good hitstreak, but I had already lost a life earlier.

Image

I know I can get more -- just need to try with Type C/Shot next.

I switched from C-laser to C-shot and finally got my max chain high enough to unlock the loop. Too many stupid deaths though.
