It will be a cold day in copyright hell when a Progear port comes to fruition.

However, there is a finished XBLA port of Dangun Feveron that was finished but never released. I wonder why they didn't include this in the box set as an exclusive...?
Oh. yeah. I guess that could be part of it too.

Dangun Feveron would have been a really cool addition. I agree. No idea why they wouldn't have tossed that one in.
Feveron is one of my favorite Cave games, it really is a shame it never got ported.

I think you are right that Cave could re-do the ports for Ketsui and DOJ, especially now that they are good at porting their games, but I think a legal issue would come up if they attempted to release it on the same platform. I could be wrong though.

Cave probably just wanted to get as much money as possible without having to actually program anything. It would have been nice to see just one shooter in the collection that wasn't already ported to the system.

Totally agree. Why not include DDP at least since it's already working on the 360.

I would pick it up as well, but I have my doubts. It seems more likely (although just barely) that it would be region free.

The thing is, they would have to translate the games that never had an english release. So Mushi, Futari, Galuda II, Pork n Sweets... the impression I am getting from this release is that they are trying to get as much money as possible without paying anyone

All we can hope is that all this money is either for a new arcade game, or that simultaneous worldwide release of SDOJ.

But damn, if they make this region free, people that literally own every game but Mushi would buy it just for Mushi, as it would be the only way to play it on a US or Euro 360.

We can only hope. Even if it doesn't get ported or made region free, this might be an excuse to get a 360-J.

The thing is the price.. But then again I have every console I need.. I might be willing to pay $200 if that happens to be the price..

Which games in that package interest you the most? Because honestly, its barely cheaper to buy this box set than to buy the games individually... and if you add in the price of a j360...

Mushi is the only game in there that you couldn't play on your us 360, and Muchi Pork/Pink Sweets is the only game in there that is pricey. Every other game in there could be had for $40 or less.

Of course, the superplay dvds are cool, and might make it worth it for some... but I dunno, overall I am pretty disappointed with this package. Superplays are available all over the internet, that will actually cater to the ship/style you are using.

Not trying to be a buzzkill or anything, I swear  I just think this is an attempt by Cave to get the people that will literally buy ANYTHING that says Cave on it to drop a nice chunk of dough on stuff they've already bought at least once.

Yeah, but I'm not sure the price will even be the same range if they localize it... It would be awesome if this collection was just a regular retail price of $60..

Mostly, I'm interested because the only game I own is DDP: DFK. Everything else would be new to me.

EDIT: I just now watched a SDOJ video, and holy hell it looks beautiful and brutal at the same time.

Yeah, it's pretty smexy.

So, I was just running through the amazon japan listing for this collection, and something that caught my eye: It's going to include an install disc with the limited edition releases' pack-in dlc! So much for my Muchi Muchi Pork Matsuri mode being special....

Here's a rundown of the collection:

Cave Shooting Collection Special BOX (with the aforementioned games)

Deathsmiles official walkthrough DVD
Mushihimesama Futari official DVD (with booklet)
Mushihimesama Futari BL x Deathsmiles MBL official DVD
Espgaluda II official DVD (with booklet)
DDP DFK official DVD
DDP DFK BL official DVD
Akai Katana Shin official DVD

Guwange Xbox Live token serial code (sorry mjmjr)

DLC install disc

I believe that the DLC disc will include both the limited edition DLC and the DLC available for purchase on Xbox live, but it wasn't really specific.

All in all, I'm going to really debate getting this. I only need Mushihimesama, but it might save me the trouble of purchasing individual DLC, and I'm interested in what the two booklets are exaclty. There's no release date set, so I should have plenty of time to think about it.

Retail price for the collection is 29,176 yen ($350) but Amazon has it marked down to 24,800 yen ($298) which is a pretty significant reduction on a game without a release date.

I'm with dunpeal, though. Pretty unlikely this one sees a Western release. If Cave smiles on the West, it'll be region free, which I think is a distinct possibility,
