I'd almost guarantee it's just emulation, and to a certain extent agree with what you're saying; it is pretty expensive. Honestly, I can emulate Neo Geo on about a million different gadgets that I own, the major difference here is that this has that awesome Neo Geo clicky thumbstick. Frankly, that makes it far more tempting of a device than it would otherwise. Seriously, if someone released a little emulation handheld with a clicky thumbstick, it'd replace my PSP in a heartbeat.KDub wrote:Well the system is still just emulation no matter if they put the rom on those little cards are not.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Is there any evidence that this is just an emulation system?KDub wrote:I still don't see the appeal in this for the price. Outside of being a pure collectible there is nothing about this that is really better than emulating on your own.
Ninja Master's is apparently being released as a physical game. I hope to see more physical games follow shortly after. Even if this has a small SNK-centric library like the NGPC I'll be happy.
No matter how you slice it the technology behind it isn't $200 worth; or at least I can't find the cost compared to similar tech out there.

I'm glad I decided on this instead of the Wii U. I have a feeling this will be tougher to find come next year.
Looks like Target and EBGames.ca still have it listed on their websites.

Is it any more "real" than a PSP with a copy of SNK classics?Luke wrote: I'm also excited about having a portable neo geo, and yes I know I could emulate the games onto a DS, or possibly even a GBA, but I like the "real" deal.
I really want to like this system. impressions from the giantbomb crew (or Jeff Gerstman anyway) are lackluster so far.

Re: Official Neo Geo X Gold System details and price announc
Called my local Gamestop and confirmed that the bundle now has a release date of 12/18/12. The register biscuit said that the handheld-only pack has a target release of February 2013. YIKES!

Open Tag: Do you plan on getting the Neo Geo X?
I do! Gamestop preorder here. Hopefully it doesn't get any more delays.

Eight days left. From the Engadget review they say the sticks are made with the same components as the AES ones, just slightly smaller. I am curious to any of yall who get it on day one as to how the sticks feel.
