What ticked me off? My family had another family over for dinner last night and we somehow managed to get on the topic of old video games to which the other family's wife responded, "I used to throw my boy's games away, IN THE GARBAGE". I pretty much became a steaming kettle at that point but I kept to myself and restricted myself from strangling her.

What made me smile? She then said that she, "may have some left". So today she found a copy of Illusion of Gaia and i'm going to pick it up later. I just try not to think about the other unfortunate games that were thrown away...

The fact that she has Illusion of Gaia makes me wonder what the other gems were she threw away...

#2. Confederate flag isn't necessarily a racist symbol, I end up seeing it used as a "Southern Pride" kinda thing. A lot of racists do seem to love taking it up as a symbol though. I don't see a lot of confederate flags in Texas, but I think that's because most people here end up just displaying the Texas flag instead when they want to show some regional pride. There are a lot of racists who love to have 'southern pride', for sure, but again it's not necessarily a racist symbol.

Now if you show me an American with a shaved head and swastika tattoos, we might have a different story.
Your second point kinda hits the flaw I see in Luke's argument. He's saying that everybody who flies a Confederate flag is racist because a portion of those who do are racist.
By that argument, anyone I see with a British flag is a racist, as it is extremely common for English Skinheads to use the the British flag in a racist matter.

As I have shown in the past, basing an opinion on a group based on a vocal few is not a fair thing to do. Don't believe me? See my horribly poor argument in the homosexuality thread.

Leaf piles:

The bed in the far back left was at least four feet tall.

My wife looked like she was sucking lemons the entire time, but she helped out a lot and was a pretty good sport.

Daaaaaaaaaaaamn that's a lot of rakin'.

I have no leafy trees around my house, so no raking. I do have to shovel plenty of snow to make up for it though.

That doesn't look that bad. I have 2 large maple trees in the front and then all sorts of trees all around the perimeter of the property. I mulch it all. I probably did 3-4 passes over a 3 week period. Good fertilizer for the lawn.

Try it one year but don't wait until the leaves have all fallen down. Just mulch and cut the grass at the same time.

Some mowers are better at mulching than others. My Honda riding mower sucks. The Toro push mower is excellent.

Mowing at my parents when I was younger I just mulched any leaves and fallen branch bits up to 1/2 inch with their old Honda self propelled. They live on a shaded woody lot that is nearly an acre.

The Honda push mowers are good. The riding mowers on the other hand, there's a reason why they were discontinued in the early 2000s.

:? : It's about time for me to update my Adobe programs, but I'm torn on what to do. For my current programs, an upgrade is going to cost me around $950, assuming I upgrade by the end of the year. After that, Adobe is changing their policy so that you can only upgrade if you have the previous version. Anything earlier and you have to buy new, which very much sucks.

However, upgrading from the previous version is still going to run around $750, assuming that you ignore any X.5 versions and Adobe doesn't drastically change their pricing. To add to that, the suite I need is going to run somewhere around $1,500-1,800, I'm going to need a new computer soon, and I'm not sure when the new version is coming out (and if it ends up coming out next year, I'll end up spending about the same amount anyway), and I'm starting to think that I should just wait till next year. That way I can save up a little more, buy it new, and then worry about upgrading from there.

Dear god I wish I still qualified for the Student Teacher editions.....

:D : Finished a little holiday shopping today.

 : Finally found the perfect gray background cloth and my mom is slowly piecing together a Mario test-block as I type. It will be a long while before completion, but my Nintendo NES themed quilt is underway!
