Strange they had 2 of them, the guy said they had just came in ( I had been wondering how 1 week old controllers had already been traded in). I figured either they bought them and realized that no Wii-U games really use 2 of these yet, they thought they were for the original Wii, or they were stolen lol.

One of the local pawn shops I visited today, already had a Wii U system at the shop. How does a system that has been out for about a week end up at a pawn shop?

The only reasons I can think of is theft (be it from a store or a person that bought it) or someone just needed some money on the spot so they hocked it and may pick it up again at a later time.

Or maybe it was a parent like one of mine who would get something as a surprise for their kid or kids and then got mad with the kids when they were bad and showed them the surprise and said they're taking it to the pawn shop because they were bad and that there will be no Christmas this year...

Ah memories...

Yeah, I'm sure it's some advance loan that some stores do where you give them the item, and they give you a loan and if you don't pay it back with their interest rates, then they reserve the right to sell the item.

but not within a week, those usually take 90 days to lose the items. Its strange that either the controllers I found, or the Console he mentioned wouldnt have simply be taken back to the store, even without a receipt you could have gotten store credit at like walmart.

I made my usual thrift store run today, and I picked up:

Star Wars: Episode I Racer (DC; complete) - $6
Space Invaders (GB; cart) - $2
Tetris 2 (GB; cart) - $2
Tempest 2000 (Saturn; complete) - $12

(I probably overpaid a little bit for Star Wars, but I think that Tempest was a pretty good deal.)

I also picked up a copy of:

Domino Rally (Wii; complete) - $5

from GameStop.

(I was tempted to get Rhythm Heaven Fever for $15, but I thought that Domino Rally would likely provide just as much quirk for 1/3 of the price.)

BoneSnapDeez wrote:Yeah $4 for Crystalis is a solid deal. One of the best games on the NES too.

I nabbed these today for $13:

Yeah I know it's not that good of a price for two old sports games (two of the same game in fact!), but I'm always thrilled to find complete Saturn titles - and the 3DO game is still sealed!

Oh and I collect golf games.

You could totally write a comparison article where the audience would be just me.

I found a strange new system today. Does anyone know what it's called?
