In all fairness I actually do like some electronic music - some stuff that has been mentioned and some that has not. I lean more industrial/electronic than house/dance/electronic and, like JT, have done a fair amount of electronic music creation/production myself (I once shared a link somewhere around here to my album, which people seemed to like). So yeah, I appreciate the genre a good deal...elmagicochrisg wrote:Subtle thread crapping is subtle...
in all seriousness, I'm a pretty big electronic fan. I was heavy into it in high school, and then later in college... man I probably listened to electronic stuff 98% of my time in 2002-2003. Hrvatski, Cex, Venetian Snares, Kid606, Bogdan Raczynski, AFX, Squarepusher, mu-z1q (can't find the "mu" symbol), etc.dsheinem wrote: In all fairness I actually do like some electronic music -
Which of course necessitates bringing up Gerson Kingsley's Popcorn which I think is a required tutorial for anyone making Tracker music.J T wrote:Jean-Jaques Perrey: E.V.A.
You and I can't be friends anymore. You should have the alt code memorized for that like I do.noiseredux wrote:mu-z1q (can't find the "mu" symbol)

This is true though. 99% of the obnoxious kids who claim to listen to techo (while listening to eurodance or some other saccharine genre that has nothing to do with techno) would absolutely hate real techno music. People who listen to techo are mostly 28-38 year old ho-hum upper middle class white males with an university education these days (even though the genre has it's roots in Detroit).dsheinem wrote:nobody listens to techno!
All video game music is electronic music by default. That is before video game music turned into Hollywood music in the 2000s.Xeogred wrote:Does shmup music count?
