Super Mario Land 2 came out in 1992 on the Nintendo Game Boy. A sequel of the rather lacking Super Mario Land this is a game I consider an under appriciated classic. It takes the formula of Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World, and while on a weaker system it manages to outclass them both. Created by the Game Boy's father Gunpei Yokoi and his elite Nintendo team R&D1 this game is proof of what capable people can do on weak system. This was also the video game debut of Wario (as the bad guy in this game in the place of bowser)
good controls mostly and imo it's one of the most important aspects in a platform game. also it was too short. and it's not so much fun to play any more as other mario games. I think I justified myself

Dude... have you played it? It lacks so many things like character size and... you can just roll with it. I mean its fun but if you're into numba 2 you just have trouble going back
Have I played it??? I discovered mario thanks to sml and although it has its flaws (actually i had never noticed that controls weren't so good until this post, and after paying it once more, i really don't think it's that bad), it has some of the best musics (no rehashes of the same old mario theme like most of the other mario games), very varied levels and it's actually not that short (of course if you use savestates it does becomes quite easy). It's sold 18mio copies (second or third best selling mario of all time) and had excellent reviews at the time. So no i don't think it lacks much... But i guess sml isn't the topic of this post
yeah but mate I don't review games on how they were when they came out. super mariol land 2 is still pretty good. Mario Land 1 doesn't stand the test of time so well. It's not crap just not a classic like many Mario games. And about the music, it is original but not to my liking. and no I play the games on the gba and found it short

Mario Land 2 rocked -- the original.... not so much. Mario Land 2 was the first portable Mario to really give the console versions a good run for their money.
