Ticked - work decided to block Google. Apparently Bing is the only search engine that is "safe to use" per our IT group. This includes Google Earth - which is critical to my teams since we have overlays for Google Earth for our plant. This just made my afternoon impossible.

Are the higher ups aware that people own smart phones? Using effort and time to block google is about the dumbest management decision I can think of, and I'm not saying that because I'm in e-commerce. Nothing to gain, lots to lose (unless you work for Yahoo!). They should go ahead and shoot down everything on-line besides your email account.

Perhaps you can use Duckduckgo.com?

Pissed: Due to a lack of hours at my jobs (the bakery's practically laid me off; at Food Lion, I went 2 weeks without work, then put in a 4-day week last week and now I'm off the schedule again), I've had to dip into my NYC fund. So far, I've taken out $60 ($40 today, $20 last week) for myself and loaned my brother $90 for plane tickets so he could bring his daughter up. So now, I'm down $150 and my current total is $400 down from $550. And after Sandy (we didn't get hit), the bridge has been out and it's damn near impossible to get up to Nags Head, which I have to do to file a new unemployment claim since my last benefit week was over 4 weeks old. And until I'm collecting unemployment, I'm fucked, since if I don't get any hours next week at Food Lion, then that's a whole pay period without hours on it.

About half of all Racketboy threads are blocked at my workplace.

Whatever software they use must scan for keywords. Anything with an f-bomb is blocked. Oddly enough, so is any thread page with the word "hentai."

I would not get along well in a work environment where any of my internet was blocked.

What if you view Racket through a site that turns it into someone's unusual speech pattern? Obviously Snoopifying wouldn't help. Maybe there's a Swedish Chefifier?

Ooh, here we go. Multiple options.

 Rush was nothing short of fantastic. It was the show they decided to film, so it went on for around 3 hours, a bit longer. The lighting was incredible, the orchestra was awesome, and they had a few fireworks. Can't wait to buy the bd and watch it all over again!

 Unfortunately, between the flying, the concert, the late night out, the lack of sleep, and another flight, my cold has developed into what feels like a full on flu this evening.

Sorry to hear man. Karma is coming to food lion though. Publix is super aggressive and is expanding like mad, even more so than Lowe's Foods and Harris Teeter. Plus, in general, fuck food lion. Besides decent prices on packaged foods, it's a shit hole that carries second grade produce and bleached meat. I made the mistake of picking up ground beef at a food lion on Sunday, only to find it dark brown by Monday morning.

Ticked: I had two "squirrel proof" bird feeders. Had. Little bastards chewed through the wire cords.

Smile: Celebrated my wife's birthday (again) last night.

Ticked: My iron ruined a dress shirt by leaking rust on it.

Smile: BB&B gave me a new iron for free plus a $20 gift card. The shirt was more than $20, but I thought the manager at the store handled it well.
