A really good review, I just wish multiplayer was more like DayZ.
I tried the multiplayer out last night, had to use the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combo and it could be fun, but that controller made it almost impossible to be precise. With a pro controller it would be better, but nothing more than a few playthroughs, it isnt deep enough. I was hoping for some online action, but nope.
If it was a coop version of the singleplayer game, kinda like DayZ meets Dead Island, it would be a very interesting title. But the survivor vs zombiemaster gameplay is not my cup of tea.

Thanks for the review. I've been interested in this game for a while. The reviews I've read are all over the place, but I'm willing to check it out. I don't need every video game I play to be a robust, AAA experience.

I want this game so badly. Most of the zombie head-shot fest games do nothing for me but this has me very excited.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I agree with Jay, I feel like a lot of these reviews are rushed or expeted a L4D on WiiU. Too me this is back to somthing much more survival horror than has been seen in recent years; take your time, conserve, be percise and expect to die.

I'm gonna be savoring this one for a while because it can put you on edge and is nothing to be rushed through.

That's enough for me to pull the trigger on this purchase. Also, it's kinda dumb how easily anyone associated with Retroware TV can influence my buying habits.

Glad I could help your decision, hopefully you enjoy it when you get it.
But I'm not associated with RWTV (...anymore) ;)

You were, though. Retroware TV is like the great secret of the Internet and I have to give a nod to anyone who was.

Beat this last night, ended up staying up till about 3 am finishing it. Took me about 13 hours, and I forget how many deaths I had. I loved the game from start to finish, taking everything extra slow, taking zombis out one by one with the crossbow was satisfying. Once again, I have to say that most of the reviews I have read have been way off about this one, and if you have a Wii U, you should be giving this one a play for sure.

Since my wife doesnt think she could handle a playthrough of this game, If anyone is interested in trading for another Wii U game (scribblenauts is high up there) pm me.

So I picked up a pro controller for $33 used today (strange to find one at this used game store this early) and gave the multiplayer a shot again with my wife. She loves plants vs. zombies, so this was right up her alley. The controller makes all the difference in the world vs using the wii remote. We played a few matches, tried out each map and I have to say, its a lot more fun than I gave it credit for initially. The main mode is like a capture the flag style game, that starts out slow, as the "King of Zombies" gets their resources going, but gets intense once they start sending hoards after you. It was pretty fun, and very satisfying to not worry about ammo and just blast zombies as you see fit. I am not sure how long the appeal will last, but for now I can see us playing some more matches for sure.
