Haveyou ever saw a lot of old videogames just laying around?

Post by someone3760 »

Have you ever saw a lot of old videogames just laying around? I have. At my aunts business there is a N64 with Smash Bros, mario, and goldeneye just sitting in the back. I kind of want to ask to buy it from her. Also when I went spelunking in my cousins basement there is around 20 to 30 NIB (Unopened) ps2 games in the basement!! Also there is 4 ps2's and like 10 controllers! And a NIB Virtual Boy!

Sounds like with the latter example that your cousin is a collector, to me. You're average casual gamer doesn't own a Virtual Boy or 4 PS2s (1, yeah, but not 4).

Ha, this reminds me... I was doing a plumbing favor with my brother for my uncle. We found a big shopping bag packed full of Atari 2600 carts in the basement which belongs to my cousin (who has been moved out for some time now). I've been meaning to ask my cousin about it. I'd like to cross check the carts in the bag with Racket's rare & valuable 2600 article LOL.

My sister-in-law has a N64 with a handful of decent games, 4 controllers, Game Boy transfer pak, and Pokemon yellow.

She keeps all this stuff in a box in the basement of my house.

Around the time the SNES was getting into swing, it was almost like you were tripping over NES games in the street here. It was kind of ridiculous.

I once saw a lot of bags next to a recently closed thrift store, all the games were in them, ready to be dumped.

We were kind of stupid and didn't take them but, rather, opened them in public, leading to a lot of morons taking all the cases away thinking they had the games inside. Hint: They did't

My garage. I have a bunch of Super Famicom, Mega Drive, and JP Saturn games just in random stacks and random boxes. I'll go treasure hunting in there and find games I completely forgot I had or games I never knew I had. For example, I found a copy of DoReMi Fantasy in my garage and I really don't recall buying it. I really should gather all that stuff and sell it off. The stuff I really treasure is in my room.

Another story is I found two ghetto fab mini MVS cabs just sitting in a parking lot. I really wanted to open em up and see if there were carts in there. It looked like the cabs were ready for the dump.

Before my partner and I were living together, she was living in a shared house, renting. When I was helping her move out she went down to the basement and found a bunch of Dreamcast stuff, with a console, controllers, games etc etc. That was pretty random, no idea whose they were or if they've just been sitting there for years.

Around 1999 or 2000, my cousin and I were going for a walk in his neighborhood. I found a box with about 20 NES carts sitting on the curb to be thrown out. I traded a few in, but the rest remain in my collection to this day: including favorites like Gun.Smoke, Air Fortress, and Bucky O'Hare! 8)
