Re: Random Thoughts Thread
So I'm watching Moonshiners and sitting here thinking...
I think I want to get into the 'shine business. Not that it would be any time soon. (I also know all the implications and all.) But that amount of money... and seeing my location, I could cook nearly all year round. I'd also have pretty good business if I ran to Austin and that area. My problems would come from finding a way to get the word out with out making obvious who the source is, and finding runners...
Although, I'd personally feeling the actual running would be the best part. Probably the safest, considering how little it would take to hide. And I'm a good enough driver to not get pulled over.
If that falls out, I can run weed in from Mexico.

No, I'll make a movie out of it and get rich while I'm doing 15 in prison. Huntsville isn't that bad anymore...OldSchool_Boy wrote:Sounds stupid. You should do it and write a blog.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Black Friday was underwhelming at my Walmart. Smaller crowd than last year, consoles which sold out instantly before were still available by the pallet hours after the sale started (especially the 360s), the DVD displays were still quite stocked when I left.
The only big item to sell out as usual, other than large TVs, were the PS3s. Even laptops were left over. And the Skylanders 4GB Xbox 360 did real bad. A pallet and a half still was left when I clocked out, eight hours after they went on sale. $150 for a 4GB 360 with no Kinect is not convincing to most people I guess, and neither is a $89 Wii Minus. The PS3 Super Slims came with the Uncharted 2-Pack and the inFamous Collection for $200, so those had no trouble selling... though I think there were fewer of those to start with.
Main problem with our sale: most of what was on sale was either boring, or not discounted deeply enough.

You don't think online sales played a part?BoringSupreez wrote:Main problem with our sale: most of what was on sale was either boring, or not discounted deeply enough.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
They played a part I'm sure, but I think the quality of our in-store sales was the main culprit. Previous years were just more worth the trip. For example, last year we had limited-edition blue Wiis, which no other retailer carried. This time, we had white Wiis and they didn't have an interesting pack-in to make up for the color. I can't remember much specifically of what we had on sale as far as video games themselves go last year, but I do recall being much more excited about what I saw then than now. To be fair though, that could be mainly because of how lackluster 2012 has been for games compared to 2011.Opa Opa wrote:You don't think online sales played a part?BoringSupreez wrote:Main problem with our sale: most of what was on sale was either boring, or not discounted deeply enough.
