Over and over i can't help keep away from a dreamcast purchase
the system current cheap price and great gaming library is very attractive to me..
I have questions since almost no new games available for this system,
are games for the dreamcast available and for reasonable prices?
if they are rare and people are keeping them for collections, then its no use of purchasing it.
i do have wii, 360, and n64 to spend money on , so price is important to me.
the other thing is, i live in a 220V world.
Is there something to worry about dreamcast power unit?
for as long as i remember, where i live, we never worried about this 220-120v electricity thing.
as a matter of fact I have a NTSC N64 being played right now with no converters needed.
this only happened with the 360, wii, and ps3.
You can only imagine how it looks with another black brick conveter connection to each console before it goes into electricity...
i would be glad if any one can tell me about this and any other consoles that would face or not face problems with this

Re: dreamcast purchasing questions
Well you can start here if you're on a budget

As for the power stuff, I'm unsure of all the specific.
There isn't a power brick though -- it actually uses the same power cord as the PS1, PS2, and Saturn

Re: dreamcast purchasing questions
I think he's talking abour voltage converters. In Europe the socket supplies 250V while in the US it's 125V. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_A ... n_2-pin.29)

All I have to say in regards to games is: "Do you have a CD burner?"

Re: dreamcast purchasing questions
if you are like me and cant get a ton of games when you buy it you can rip them onto a CD R and play em, for some games(half life propeller arena) it is the only way to get em!
Re: dreamcast purchasing questions
Step 1) Buy used Dreamcast, don't spend more than $20.
Step 2) Buy $20 spindle of CD-Rs.
Step 3) ?????
Step 4) Profit from a rich Dreamcast game library!

Re: dreamcast purchasing questions
i am not worried about sockets, i am worried that a malfunction would happen to the console.
we purchase american 360's which are 120 volts, if you plug them here where i live (220v)
it burns, it breaks and i think there is no way back.
any one have any idea how dreamcast would work based on this?
can any one tell me if NTSC is 120V and PAL is 220V?
ripped cd's for rare games?
that almost made me hold the mouse and go to amazon to purchase my dreamcast,
question is, from where can I find them?
excuse my ignorace, but finding reliable places for downloads is pretty hard for me
