Hey all, I've got an X'Eye that I'm preparing to tear down and restore (doesn't load catridges at all, doesn't like most CDs), but I need to find out one little detail to determine if it's worth it..
The particular model I have is one of the early revisions without the Genesis/32X DIN output socket. The indentation where it would go is in the case, but it's just blank plastic.
Has anyone added a 32X DIN to a JVC X'Eye? Is it even possible, or were there different board revisions as well? Should I call this one a loss and keep an eye out for a newer X'Eye revision or SegaCD?
Help! JVC X'eye lacking DIN output
Re: Help! JVC X'eye lacking DIN output
Very likely the same mod needed by Wondermega. It also lacked that DIN.
Lum fan.

I'd searched for something like that, but came up short... is there a guide or any info posted somewhere?

For the Wondermega I've seen people add an 8-pin DIN jack wired up to the CXA1145 encoder, but I don't think you'll need to do that with the X'Eye. Have you opened up your X'Eye yet? It might still have solder pads for the 9-pin mini-DIN so all you'd have to do is solder one indriph wrote:theclaw wrote:Very likely the same mod needed by Wondermega. It also lacked that DIN.

Haven't cracked it open yet, but I'm hoping that's the case. Btw, do you happen to have a preferred source for things like the DIN jack?

You can get the proper jacks here: http://www.surplussales.com/connectors/Video-Data.htmldriph wrote:Haven't cracked it open yet, but I'm hoping that's the case. Btw, do you happen to have a preferred source for things like the DIN jack?
