For some of us thats gonna be like any other day. Some might be preppers with cautious eyes. Others are shitting bricks and many are expecting something to happen.

For me its no big deal. I've said it for a long time "The world ends on the day you die". Whatever reason you die; medical, biological, physical or darwin awardee. Your day will come. We shouldn't worry about it. Enjoy every day of your life.

Dont believe what others may say (about 2012). Dont be a mindless sheep. Dont give away your posessions or follow this dude or others with the same misguided attempts at controling your destiny. Dont suicide yourself or kill others. Better yet, go ahead. If you believe in it.

Every few years theres always some final-end-of-days mumbo jumbo. Its been going on ever since we could stand upright. But we as humanity are more than that. Some may find that coincidences are true and scary. But in this internet dominated, instant information attainable society we like to think that everthing is connected. Some may think that the biblical end times may have already started.

But this happens every year! Wars, natural disasters and pandemics happen every year and its gonna keep happening long after 2012 is just an anecdote in some history file on the mainframe.

Some of us all want some fictional 2012 boogey-man to take away all our problems.

I thought I read something somewhere that the Mayan calendar actually expired in 2011 because they counted it a different way? Solar as opposed to lunar calendar, or something?

Isn't the Galactic Rift supposed to be like... really visible, or aligned with the planets or something like that?

There will be no doomsday thing, obviously, but maybe some kind of celestial alignment? Am I remembering that correctly?

Yeah, even our calendar is fudged up. Because of the Romans, three extra months were added to "hail Caesar". October should obviously be the 8th month, but they ruined that too.

I'd like to hope that nobody on this site actually believes in 2012 nonsense. I haven't really ran into anyone personally who's thought much of it either.

I don't know, everyone seemed to just stop talking about it after that dumb 2012 movie. Fine by me.

Yup, just a handful of crazy people that believe this crap, but of course paranoia and crazy theories based on extinct cultures sell movies and make people watch the 10 o'clock news (and thus gain eyeballs for your sponsors).

When new years 2K rolled around I was at a LAN party in a friend's garage playing Quake III. The only reason we knew it was midnight was because we had the garage door open and a nearby church chimed. I don't remember knowing anyone truly worried back then beyond things like maybe not being able to go to the bank and other minor aggravations for a few days while more confused computers were found and taken care of.

People who say they've just started recently haven't read the Bible. The end times began the moment Jesus left the earth.

I don't give the 2012 stuff any credit. The Mayans just decided to stop their calendar there, that's all. Why should anyone think that a primitive Indian tribe would know the date the world ends?
