That pausing every time someone dies or gets a power up is a great idea. So is the limitations on controllers for multiplayer and not supporting the other one at all. I'm glad I have no interest because that crap would drive me bonkers.

That isn't as it seems though. Apparently he isn't actually hitting the notes being played. It is just that the ball hits are triggering the next note in a midi sequencer. So while it is impressive timing so that the notes are spaced correctly, it is just each hit advancing to the next note. Likely the entire keyboard surface is just one button.
