I'm glad he inspired Irate Gamer, because if there wasn't Irate Gamer there wouldn't be the Save State Gamer's Fallout and Mega Man episodes, or any Irate Gamer parodies for that matter. Actually I'd rather see a Irate Gamer than AVGN movie, because I'm sure it would be so bad it would end up being funnier than the AVGN movieXeogred wrote: Could never really get into anything else like his stuff, although a lot of the newer guys out there like Happy Console Gamer, etc or whatnot are cool too. It's no doubt James inspired a ton of fans out there who do their own things now.

Irate Gamer is by far the worst of all of the popular AVGN ripoffs I've seen.
Re: AVGN: The Movie
see, I found Hobo with a Shotgun to be immensely watchable and this trailer makes me dread having to sit through this film. I think you can force camp in certain genres, but I don't think this film (from the trailer) is really operating firmly enough in any one of them...hashiriya1 wrote:Can't be better/worse than Hobo with a Shotgun.

Just a complete ripoff too. I remember his TMNT review was almost point by point exactly like AVGN's. Baaaaaad.AppleQueso wrote:Irate Gamer is by far the worst of all of the popular AVGN ripoffs I've seen.

Re: AVGN: The Movie
uh well, this thread is heading into that territory of why I don't care for Youtube persona reviewers like the AVGN character to begin with, so I'll probably stop reading it soon.
But let me just say I like a good bad movie. This looks amusing to me. I'll see this. I will without question avoid the new James Bond (just as I've avoided every single one that came prior). I'll also miss Star Wars... is it VII?

I think it looks really fun. Been a huge AVGN fan since the start.
Aw, c'mon. All my points are valid. If you take the same trailer and replace James with another actor I doubt anyone would be excited to see this.
But I guess that's the attraction, the avgn character. Some people only go to see Batman movies just to see Batman and I guess the pull for this is 90 minutes of the avgn character.

Re: AVGN: The Movie
Luke did you read my first post? I don't like the AVGN character at all. I'm not familiar with any of James' other work. So I think it's fair to say that if you replaced him with another actor I'd feel exactly the same way about the trailer.Luke wrote:If you take the same trailer and replace James with another actor I doubt anyone would be excited to see this.
Re: AVGN: The Movie
Not like that's anything new on forums, but I laughed at it this time for some reason.
