Anyone else excited about this game?
It's a spiritual successor to the X of Illusion games of the 16-bit era. From what I've seen of it the game looks like it was designed with retro gamers in mind.
Early reviews from the "pros" are mixed thus far - it seems like a love it or hate it game from the reviews that are available online. Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised considering that the game is essentially trying to be a modern 16-bit game.
I am most likely picking this up. It releases tomorrow, Nov. 18. Anyone else?

I had it preordered on Amazon for $25 but then I figured I'd wait so I canceled. I probably should have kept it since I imagine it might be a while until it drops to that price.
Re: Epic Mickey Power of Illusion
I played the demo and I was less than pleased. I am a HUGE Castle of Illusion fan, it's one of my favorites. In this game, you're first greeted with a severely long intro that cannot be skipped or sped up in any way. Why do modern games need this much preamble? Just say Mickey needs to go rescue Minnie again and she's back in that Castle place. One or two screens, tops. Make them skippable, too! The gameplay itself was OK. It seemed kind of slow and I couldn't do some of the stuff I could do in Castle of Illusion. For example, in Castle of Illusion you can curl up your legs to bounce off of things by pressing C (jump) or pressing DOWN. Pressing JUMP to bounce will result in you bouncing higher off of whatever you just killed, whereas pressing DOWN will result in a tiny bounce. You can only bounce by pressing JUMP in this new 3DS game. I liked how there were sound effects from the Genesis version though they seemed slightly muffled. But I made it to a part where the game asked me to draw something onscreen to get past. I am SOOOOOO over that kind of shit. It was fun when the DS was originally released but I am sick of that gimmick already. Just give me a platformer without the bullshit, please. The game also breaks the flow extremely often with things that you need to talk to and whatnot. Definitely not cool.
Too much bullshit, will not buy.

Dang Joe you just broke my heart, I was super hoping for some Sega 16-bit throwback goodness here. *sigh*...I'll probably grab it on sale eventually.
