What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Money is the root of everything, and if you don't have enough, your life is destined to be shit. Wars are fought over money. People get killed for meager amounts of money. So why should I give money to someone because they asked? Especially considering how many fakers and lazy beggars are out there.

Thanks for reminding everyone of this. Using your logic, I should say that you should stop whining about your life to the people on this board, asking us for advice on how to fix your problems with [fill in the blank].
Well, thank you. I honestly shouldn't ask anyone, seeing as my problems are mine alone, generally created by me. Its especially sad considering most of the problems I bring up have nothing to do with video games. Excuse me for being an ass.

Instead of doing that, I'd rather urge you to just not be an ass. I know you're young but take this as the Gospel truth: You've got it good. From what I can tell, you have a belly full of food, a roof over your head, a shot at a decent education, and some awesomely functioning limbs. Your family has enough disposable income that you have both the Internet and video games. Compared to 80% of the world, you're living the life of royalty.

Think about that the next time you sneer at someone who might actually need help, compassion, or assistance. No one says you have to help anyone but damn you for holding their needs against them without even considering what their circumstances might be.

Frown: Watched a dumb movie. China occupying the USA? Plausible. But N. Korea taking over is like Indiana forming a coup.

Mega Frown: I have snacks for MNF, but I wanted to make Chicago Bear parfaits with Reese's Pieces, vanilla ice cream, caramel, and hot fudge. No Pieces from Reese, so I scrapped the entire idea.

Being an ass is in my nature, its going to happen.

As good as I do have it, and as bad as things can be for others, I cannot stand laziness. I don't like sob stories. I give out more money than I sound like I do, honestly. There's some weird reason where everybody who needs $20 bucks for gas thinks that my Dad and I are going to be the most likely to give them money. I don't really know, I just know most bums aren't really in need of the help they ask for.

Again, excuse me for being an ass. It comes out on occasion. Like around my birthday, or when I get certain speeches I hear about 12 times a month.

My point wasn't that I was offended by you nor that I think you are an ass. I just read what I quoted and laughed becaues I was like "Damn dude! That's bleak as hell, and I thought I was pessimistic." Seriously, read it again. That's jaded, defined. You might want to examine that.

EDIT: Also, there's something unusual about a forlorn "drifter" condemning "bums".

Spoken like someone with no responsibilities who has never had to worry about how they were going to pay their next bill or feed their kids or pay for medication after getting laid off.

I hope you never have any difficult times in your life. With an attitude like yours, growing up would be very painful.

I don't know anything about Forlorn Drifter's status, but just to comment generally...
In my experience, it's often the poor that hate the poor the most. It's like they attack others for what they hate about themselves. Sort of like a pigeon angrily pecking at a mirror. Sad really.
