It's not the killing method that matters since the whole killing process only accounts for like 0.01% of their lifespans, it's that 99.99% spent in abysmal conditions one should care about. When you go out hunting you're killing animals that have lived free, natural lives. Naturally every one isn't able to do that, so untill synthetic meat becomes a reality, we're stuck with factory farming (I doubt that most humans have the will power to become vegetarians).
I agree with almost everything you've said -- I'm concerned about the suffering caused to the animals in life above everything else as well -- but I have to point out that it's not safe to assume most livestock are killed in efficient and painless ways. Chickens as an entire group, for example, are not stunned for slaughter like other food animals are. But even for those that are supposed to be stunned, the procedure doesn't always go right, or it can be debatable how effective such procedures are in giving them the intended comfort. I've read terrible things that I will never forget.

The factory farming industry by nature will be driven by frugality first, not compassion. It's a business. If they can find ways around costly ethical requirements -- loopholes which will also most likely promote a higher product supply to meet demand -- they will. So they don't get any of my money, and I simultaneously lessen the demand for their product by refusing to consume it. I need to do this to be at peace with my conscience.

Edit: Great post, cookie monster.

So you find that funny but dismiss Duckman?
I dont get it why these things are never based on actual eSports games. I always get the feeling that a bunch of people who really dont know much about games are trying to cash in on a trend when they resort to using phony made up games. Even if you're aiming for fiction rather than a realistic portrayal of life of eSports players, I'm sure you could still base the movie on an existing game like Starcraft 2, Counter Strike, Warcraft 3 or World of Warcraft. I doubt that the developers of those games would mind, given how much publicity something like that would give them.

I wonder if Fatal1ty will make an appearance in VGHS?

Yes.

I'm sure the way this movie came to be was that one of the actors in the movie asked their rich Dad to make a movie for his Birthday present. It is soooo awful.

Smile: Not that anything special is supposed to happen, but it's my birthday. So yay?

I've been sick and feeling pretty crummy for the last couple of days and I actually feel almost normal today, so I'm very happy about that. :)

Well "I'm gonna loaf around, relax, and get better today" is better than "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to". Have a happy return to normalcy birthday. :)

Well karma should be satisfied by now if that's why you're doing it, right?

Happy Happy Harper!

Smile: Some things you just can't make up.

Ran out to Wal-Mart as my honey do list included "pick up a.w" (that's t.p to most people). While leaving in car, the same old bum was out at the same intersection, with the same sign: Vietnam Veteran Homeless. Will Work. Need Food or Cash. God Bless

You never know, so I rolled down my window and asked:

Me: What branch?

Bum: Huh?

Me: What branch of military did you serve in?

Bum: Air force, never deployed. Never got anywhere.

Me: What would a few bucks go to?

Bum: I can eat like a king at McDonalds for a few bucks.

Me: Take this *hands bum a two dollar bill* and I swear if you are bullshitting me I have a dead Grandpa that will haunt the fuck out of you.

Bum: *looks at me like I'm crazy* I won't take that. Two dollar bills are bad luck.

*light turns green and I'm off*

So I had a bum refuse free money because two dollar bills are "bad luck". My mind is still trying to figure this out. A bum. Refuses money. Because of a belief in bad luck. Couldn't he spend it? Isn't his luck bad enough already? What just happened?

I may have met the world's pickiest bum.
