Rarity of Different MVS Cabinet Colors

Post by racketboy »

Got sent this question and thought maybe someone here would know:

"I saw the link on your website about the different types of variations for the
Neo Geo MVS Cabinets. However I have been having a difficult time finding
information on what different colors were used for the cabinets and if certain
color schemes are more rare or valuable"

Anyone know?

The KLOV entry lists the different types, but it doesn't really break down the numbers for all of them like it does for other old dedicated cabs, at least as far as I can see with a quick glance.

Most over here were the traditional red or the 2slot "Goldie". Blue cabs were manufactured overseas and Japan got a number of variations in white and other colors.

While it doesnt list rarity, hardmvs has photos and info on all the MVS cabinets and variations:

(in the US, you can get an original Neo-Geo cabinet in any color you want, as long as you want red. Or woodgrain.)

There's a dude in Tennessee with a "big white."
Not much info on it is known, however...

Also, there are the "Mini" Reds (MVS-2-13)

Yeah, that white cab, as far as I've been able to tell, was some sort of weird one-off. Bumped the original thread on KLOV to see if any more info had been discovered.

And the mini MVS is one of my favorites. Here's mine. :]
