I've been playing this every day this week, but there isn't a single game session that doesn't end in a rage quit.
"Oh, great. I am seconds away from the finish line in second place. Then I get hit with a red shell. While I am recovering, I get hit by someone with a star. As I am tumbling around, I get hit by a bullet. Oh, the bullet knocked me off the track into the lava."

This is easily my least favourite in the series for that exact reason. There are more overpowered weapons in this one, and with 12 characters, they get used more frequently too. This one overrelies on weapons compared to the others imo.
I agree. The online mode is the only redeeming factor.
Seriously… an auto-pilot bullet? An auto-pilot bullet that players can get within seconds of the race start simply because they are in 9th place?
Blue shells that allow a player in last place to affect who comes in first? The shell doesn't even hit everyone along the way as in the N64 game.
Thundercloud that completely breaks any sort of two-four player race? There is no reason to "award" anyone that damn cloud when there are less than eight players, if at all. If you are in a race with four or less players, the thundercloud is essentially an auto-loss.
