Technically he wasn't my cat, he was my grandpas who had the stroke, but we saw him atleast once a month before the stroke and he was so spoiled he was known as Uncle Chester.

I was wondering why you had a cat that was three years older than you.

I have a brother that's older than me, he's twenty one. Chesters mother was is cat and would be the same age as my brother. We had her (her name was Miss Kitty lol) like three years before i was born.

Smile: I've probably mentioned it before, but I'm throwing my wife a surprise birthday party on Saturday, and her family is also visiting for the party. It's a week before her Birthday, so the occasion should be a complete surprise.

Since we'll have a full house I started the house cleaning on Tuesday. Still working on the first floor as I've made a few trips to the salvation army to donate all kinds of stuff.

Frown: We'll probably get the "did you find a church yet?" speech again.

As for the church bit, yeah we still get that one--I've since become less and less Catholic over the years and it doesn't have much importance to me anymore. All the same, it's not an easy topic to discuss haha. My parallel is "When are you thinking about getting engaged?"

We've been in Charlotte six years, and we still get that. We recently started sending our kids to pre-school at our local Baptist and Presbyterian churches, however, and it has died down a bit. I guess that is good enough.

Thanks man, I think it will prove to be a blast. I'll give her some gifts on Saturday, but my parents and I will give her some extras on her birthdate. Double Birthday; sweet deal for her.

Ticked - Car is in the shop again... It started to overheat last night and I limped it home. Also found out today that most of my old sales teams quit today. We went from a 29 person department to a 12 person department in the last two months. Internal politics being the main reason for people jumping ship. And since the car is in the shop, there goes the Wiiu budget.

Smiled - My job is safe and I get to work from home tomorrow. On top of that, when the guy was working on the car he discovered it was a minor issue, but while he was in there he figured out what was wrong with the heater and noticed a belt that was going out and found out that the water pump was dying. So I am getting it all fixed. This will be the first time in six years I will have heat in my car! On its own that repair has been quoted to me at $1400 (since you have to hoist the engine and remove the console to get at the part that breaks - go go old ford), so I just never had it fixed, but where I live now it gets really dang cold compared to where I was.

I was raised "Chicagoian" which means I'm a mix of Catholic and Lutheran. My wife's family are super-baptists. Not the snake handling kind, but the ones who teach Sunday school, pay large tithes, organize the budget, etc. They can not stand the fact that we haven't found a church, but it isn't due to a lack of looking around.

This still makes me laugh: My Grandmother in-law mentioned that she didn't care for our wedding because it was "too religious". I think she was directly referring to the fact I had a baptist congregation join in on the Apostle's Creed. And the word "Catholic" in that prayer means "universal", but some people took offense.


....whoa I got off track there. So yeah, party should be a hit and can't wait to see the look on my wife's face.

Here is one a recipe that I often use as a "supplemental" hors d'oeuvres (i.e., when I think I need just one more thing to tide over the guests until the main course). They are incredibly easy, pair great with cocktails, and never fail to impress:
