Actually, the first Wii U review I saw from IGN for a launch game was Ninja Gaiden and the reviewer said it was much better to play using the pro controller.
They also didn't mention why it was better. Just that it was. Considering the time I spent with the gamepad, I really don't see why it's necessary or how it could really be better. The buttons on the gamepad are very responsive and it's actually quite comfortable. The only thing I can think of is the monstrous battery life and the fact that Ninja Gaiden doesn't really use the screen anyways.

Playing ZombiU with the Pro Controller, for instance, looks like it takes a lot away from the game.

Can't really blame you on the amount of peripherals though. I could understand legacy support for the WiiMote/Nunchuck. I'd much prefer if new games only worked with the gamepad and pro controller though.

This. A thousand times.

My girlfriend keeps bugging me about this. She really is confused about which controller you're supposed to use. Since you have the gamepad, the pro controller and the wiimotes and nunchucks. I pre-ordered one, but it is freaking annoying how many different controllers there are and we have no idea which is even the "main" controller.

I saw those too! I got a Sonic and a Super Sonic because that's all they had left. I thought it might have just been my store, because the glue on those cases was shoddy as hell, but I guess not.

^I picked up Sonic when he was $5... now that they're marked down to $1, I should go back and see who's left.

not sure how many there are, but I got Sonic, Super Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.

Back on the WiiU thing, someone asked about the Pro-Controller and legacy support. I read on (Tom's Hardware I think?) that it absolutely will NOT be compatible with Wii games. You'll still have to plug a classic controller into a wii-mote for that.

On a side note, I got to play with one yesterday at Best Buy. Couple of first impressions, the tablet controller isn't as light as you guys made it out to seem. It's not heavy either. So I was expecting it to feel cheap, but it doesn't. Feels pretty good. The triggers though...... oh no Nintendo! They aren't analog like most of us have come to expect since... oh I don't know, 1999 when Sega did it with the Dreamcast. Since the racing genre is my favorite, this really sucks for me. Bummer Nintendo, bummer. (maybe the pro controller will have analog triggers?)

Another thing I noticed is how big the actual WiiU is. In pictures, it looks like it's the same size as the Wii. It is NOT. The rectangle shape may be similar, but the thing is loooong. Maybe 16" long or so.

And, as others have mentioned, the screen on the tablet is beautiful. I was playing Rayman on what I can only assume was probably a Samsung 55" LED (it had Nintendo white trim all around it so you couldn't see the TV, just the screen) and it looked good. As good as the 360 or PS3 versions. But playing it on the screen on the tablet looked brilliant. Something tells me that for single player games like this, I'll be using the tablet screen more often than the TV. The dense pixel ratio just works very well here.

The funny thing is the tablet is really low resolution. In fact, it's wide screen standard def!

854x480 or something like that.

Yeah, the system is long, I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's great for deep theater centers, but, those aren't has common as they were when everybody had a deep TV that needed to be set on top.

I always play racing games with the right stick doing the throttle and breaking, so I can't see myself really complaining about the lack of analog triggers. Much prefer digital in most cases.

Only a few more days!

They seem to be selling for around $500 on ebay. Doesn't really seem worth it to me. 350 for the console, 10% ebay and paypal fees comes to 50, and then shipping since most of them have free shipping. They might be making $50 -$75 and you have to worry about charge backs and other bs. Craigslist would be the way to do it with no fees or shipping I guess. If they do not end up being easier to find than the Wii was I imagine the profit margin will go up after the release date though. Seems early to me for people to be selling them. Some of the preorders being sold on ebay are actually going for around console cost too. That means you would make nothing and have to deal with possible headaches still.
