Just got an original xbox

I went online at price charts.com and I can't believe how cheap games are. Great 2d fighters and a lot of other fighting gems and racing. Too bad xbox never had really go shmups. I might have to put my nes collecting on hold.

As for your question, Panzer Dragoon Orta is the game I got my oXbox for, since it has some bugs playing on a 360.

And it takes an older revision Xbox to use 480p mode (unless there's a hack?).
Microsoft broke that feature of some games.

I have been wanting to pick one up for the Sega games myself. Maybe I will find a cheap one some day. I might even try Halo too, not that I think I will like it but just to see what all the hype over the series is about. There are also some fighters I would probably check out. And yes I would love to mod it and get MAME running. Damn, now I really want an X-Box.

I actually got my oXbox for free. Knowing that a lot of people just upgraded straight to the 360, I just posted on Facebook asking if anyone had one they'd be willing to give me. As I said earlier, I got mine pretty much exclusively for Panzer Dragoon Orta, but I figured I may as well try Halo, since I had the hardware. Halo is way over-hyped, but I really enjoyed Halo 1 and 2 (except for Halo 1's Library level). Don't let the hype turn you off to some fun action FPS games.

My wife got a reconditioned Xbox for me a few years ago for $25. I love it.

As a general rule, the system has the best version of "multi-platform" games like Psychonauts, Splinter Cell, etc. It also has some excellent exclusives from Sega and Tecmo, like the aforementioned Panzer Dragoon Orta, Otogi, Otogi 2, Jet Set Radio Future, and Ninja Gaiden. Finally, collecting for the system is dirt cheap. (Seriously, the "holy grails" of the Xbox libary are $30-$50, and many places are now clearing Xbox games for $1 each.)

It is also worth mentioning that the Xbox has the best "adventure" game library of any console besides the Wii. With Dreamfall, Syberia, Syberia 2, Still Life, Indigo Prophecy, Myst IV, etc., it is hard for a fan of "adventure" games to wrong with an Xbox.

Amazon is pretty good for used stuff too. You do have to rely on a simple description, but in my experience they're accurate most of the time. I've only had a handful that didn't meet or exceed expectations, and they were all really cheap items.

There are still a fair number of XBox titles available new/sealed for good prices too.

Not many people collect them; so, craigslist, pawn shops, and thrift stores kill it for Xbox games. Good luck with the collecting!

there is a pawn shop 5 for 10.00 and get one free. I seen last time samurai shodown 5, gta double pack, king of fighters 2002/2003, metal slug 4,5, and others. I'm going there tomorrow

One thing i hate is ebay. Everytime I get there for xbox and I even filter out 360 I still get xbox 360 games and not original xbox. Also any other 360 games that could be played on original xbox besides the 3 burger king games
