The later runs of the Sega CD did not have the extender plate included (I think the Tomcat Alley one did not include it, for example). You used to be able to ask Sega to send you one, which I think they may have offered for free. I could be wrong on the free part, but I think I recall that. It was never sold separately in stores as far as I know.

I got my Sega CD in late 1993 bundled with Sewer Shark. It came with the extender plate. I believe the model 2 Sega CD came out in maybe summer or fall 1993.

Wow, awesome. That's exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks!

On an unrelated note, this question is for everyone here: Do you find most of your stuff at flea markets? Or garage sales? I haven't had any luck with garage sales, and they take a lot of gas and time getting in and out of your car.

For me mostly garage sales. But anymore we don't even have any gas left in NYC to go any more.

I have not had much luck with garage sales either. My collection is at the point where I am only looking for "uncommon" titles, however; so, I think that is part of it. Whenever I go hunting for games, I tend to stick to "high density" location such as flea markets, pawn shops, video game stores, and certain thrift stores. The sellers at these locations are usually much more informed with regard to market value, but I can usually find a few good deals. If I just happen to be passing a yard sale, however...

I would have to say that flea markets and yard sales have typically been a huge bust for me. Second hand stores as well. While I've picked up a few things, the "bulk" of my collection has come from Craigslist.

And then the CIB, "must haves" have generally come from Ebay. Sadly.

Locally it is thrift stores, pawn shops and garage sales; in that order. Otherwise, online through forums, chat and online shops. I have honestly NEVER used eBay before. F--k eBay.

Collecting is pretty sweet where I live. Local flea market saturated with games and almost no collectors; resellers (which there are only 2 of, and kind enough not to go around buying games from others) are extremely nice and pretty negotiable; Craigslist an easy way to find games; games going ridiculously cheap at garage sales; the one and only video game shop has relatively agreeable rices.

Craigslist Pick up!
The only reason I got this is because I really wanted a SNES.
I think paying $100 for this was waaaay to much, but the guy would not come down

Isn't DreamLand 3 pretty valuable? It doesn't seem terrible price wise, even though it's not wonderful either.

I don't know actually. I could probably check right now, but I'm too lazy to, hah.
I just bought this on whim for a SNES
