Are you saying the movie is fifteen minutes long? It says 143 minutes on imdb. ;)

IMAX? Please say you saw it in IMAX. Even if you didn't, go ahead and say you did.

Just watched Prometheus. I bought the 3D Bluray. I have to say that this is the best Bluray I have yet to see. I really like the movie as well.

Maybe it's better when you don't know about the book.

As is the case with many movies...
I disagree though. There's books that I think are just as good as the movie (Rules of Attraction, Fight Club, High Fidelity) and movies that I thought were better than the book (American Psycho). It's not always "the book is better." But if you are aware of both, you're going to compare them. Shrug.

I completely agree with you point, specially about American Psycho. Thankfully the mouse inside tube inside... scene didn't make the cut  .

haha. Honestly, I just thought the pages of description of his daily regime dragged it down. It was the kind of minutia that translated well to a couple minutes screen time and drove the point home, but seemed to make the book drag in comparison. Still a great *story* but I love how the film was executed in comparison.

Some movies may indeed be better than the book, but in most cases it's the opposite. Books can go into much more detail than movies whilst still leaving more room for imagination. American Psycho with its detailed descriptions of how the characters look and what they are wearing is a fine example. Watching the movie without having read the book will leave you much more confused at the end of the movie. As much as I love the movie and Christian Bale's sublime performance, I like the book better...

Admittedly, some scenes in the book are so hardcore it would be very hard to translate them onscreen, and get away with it. Like when Bateman kills that gay man his dog and the writer describes how the dog goes in a big circle, finds the trail of its own intestines, and starts licking them. Or the acid/pussy/rat/glass/cheese combo...

I only remember the pussy and rat combo, what happened with the glass, cheese and acid?  (Now that's a question I would have never thought I'd ask) Maybe because I read it in spanish... maybe it was censored.

If you have the hardware then watch it on 3D. It looks spectacular and it's one of the best 3D presentations out there (Avatar, SH: Revelations 3D, Pina, Paranorman, How To Train Your Dragon, Dredd, Resident Evil Afterlife and The Lion King are pretty damn good too).

I also loved the film and many of it's themes and characters.

Burn pussy with acid to make nice big hole.
Put tube in hole.
Put cheese laced with glass in tube in pussy.
Put hungry rat in tube and close entrance side of tube.
Rat eats cheese with glass while digging through pussy and beyond.
Rat dies, woman attached to pussy dies.
The end...

I watched The Hunger Games so I could be prepared to watch it with Rifftrax.

In a word: idiotic.

I've heard the books are worse. Wow. Still havent had a chance to watch the Rifftrax version, but I'll need to in order to get the stench out of my clothes.
