I just think they have a flawed implementation. I think the reason why they have the login is to allow you to save your settings in the cloud and be able to use it on another computer without having to reconfigure it.
This is not the first device to do this. Logitech requires this for their remotes. That is, you program it via the cloud.
More manufacturers are taking advantage of the cloud.

Well if it weren't required, that might be handy for keeping settings the same on multiple PCs then.gtmtnbiker wrote:I just think they have a flawed implementation. But according to that post, you can't even use any of the advanced stuff until you set up an account. That's beyond flawed and into asanine territory.

That just seems silly having to be online. I'll stick with my cheapo Logitech mice, thanks! =D

Wow, I thought the Logitech system tray update popups were bad. I don't even use the advanced functions of my Logitech mouse because of that. Heh, I guess I won't be buying a Razer anytime soon.
This is just one more reason I should switch to Linux. Then I can finally use my Raphnet adapter to interface my Mario Paint mouse.

Probably because the software for programming the keyboard/mouse is hosted in the cloud. In some ways, this can be an easier/better approach for companies since they can upgrade the software, etc without having to push updates out to customers.

Lending your mouse to a friend is stealing. Peripheral manufacturers loose hundreds of millions in sales every year because of that.
The food in your fridge was licensed to you, not sold. Don't even think about sharing, although you can gift duplicates.
