yeah I feel like I'd have a better chance impulse-buying it when it gets released than putting down $ a year in advance. But the conundrum is that it sounds like the DC version will be a Kickstarter-exclusive. :\

Oh hmm - I may do it then, just to have the physical copy forever.

So why haven't the Pier Solar guys done any more print runs of the Genesis game anyway? I mean I can go right now and buy a copy of Battle Kid for $30, why should I have to pay hundreds just for Pier Solar? The demand is clearly there, and a genesis cart can't possibly cost much to manufacture... do they just like the prestige and hype of turning their game into a collector's item?

They've done like 3 print runs already. There is still one edition left on their website to buy I believe.

I did go for the Dreamcast version - from the email updates they are doing some cool things although with all the various system options, i'm hoping the DC doesn't get left in the dust when it comes to a quality check.

It'll be almost two years from the kickstarter too once it finally arrives.

This is why I will never do a Kickstarter again. After Redux I was done. I am really done with the indie scene for retro consoles altogether. The NG Dev games no longer do it for me either.

rant over.

Why does this situation piss you off? Just because it took two years?

Yep, was quite confused by this myself? That's pretty much every Kickstarter these days.
