Here in Washington where it was legalized, that is the question on everyone's mind now. We don't know how the federal government will react to our state decision. They might turn a blind eye to Washington and Colorado, but they could also have concerns. While I happily voted for the legalization, there are some potential fallout effects that the feds could have legitimate concern about. Will WA and CO now become major farming locations for organized crime through the drug distribution in the rest of the country? This also creates a rivalry with our state and drug traffickers... what is going to result of that? Will we legally put them out of business, or will they retaliate somehow?Forlorn Drifter wrote: I was wondering about the states that legalized marijuana. I do not think it's going to be an easy transition for our state to legally get into the pot business, or for Colorado. I think it stands to greatly benefit our local economy though as it increases tourism and decreases expenses on criminalization/litigation. If we are successful, then we could really help lead the way for the rest of the country and even change the minds at the federal level. I hope for that (and I don't even smoke).
