This depends on the bed of the truck, but drape some blankets on the side of the cabinet that will lay on the bed of truck. My guess is that you'll have the marquee face up. Then, get the arcade cab very close to the tailgate. Remove the dolly, tilt the cabinet in, and then you and your friends can slide the cabinet into the back. The blankets will mitigate any scraping and make it slide easier into the back of the truck. Again that's all dependent on what the surface of the bedliner is made out of.

It's an original cabinet, not a converted one.

I was thinking it might have wheels based on some of the pics in this thread.

But yeah, I'll probably bring the dolly. Would be better to have it and not need it than otherwise. Good points.

If I do need to use the furniture dolly, should I just slide the whole thing , dolly and all onto the truck?

Maybe it will have wheels then. Not sure how you would slide the whole thing dolly and all on to the truck though.

It's apparently completely bolted in there and won't be easy to remove, so we'd probably have to leave it on. How should I take the presence of this thing into consideration?

I understand that you can move them standing up or lying down, but if I choose to lay the cabinet down, I need to make absolutely sure that everything inside is secure. Can someone offer a quick breakdown of specifically what all I need to be looking for inside there?
Laying the cabinet down might be risky. It should be okay, but then again maybe not since the monitor is designed to be secured while the cab is upright. Maybe pop the back off to make sure the decades old hardware will keep the CRT from dropping from the truck bounce move.

Kind of hard to explain this on a message forum but I'll try :

The top on the truck is going to make it worse than it needs to be. Most American cabs have a tipping point where all the weight is distributed well. Because of this tipping the machine over into the back of the truck is really easy and one person can do a small machine. You basically find the right angle tip the machine pick up the bottom.

When you aren't able to tip it at that angle because of a cover you have to control all the weight of the cabinet at the wrong angle and basically shoving the cabinet into the truck with only the very top of the cabinet resting on the truck bed. Still will work out with the cover but way harder.

I've moved hundreds of arcade machines and can say laying it on its back should be ok. Its not a bad idea to check the CRT but unless someone did modifications it should be very stable. I've been one to remove game PCB's depending upon the cabinets condition inside. If the machine works and you haven't done repair might just want to leave it built, its rare PCB's get damaged in that kind of move.

The cover/camper on the top of the truck isn't going to be any kind of issue. We're removing it before we leave to get the machine.

The big wooden box thing stuck on the truck bed is what I'm worried about.

Appreciate the advice about the tipping and whatnot. I'm starting to feel like this whole thing isn't going to be near as complicated as I was worried it might be.

I don't know. Have you figured out what you're going to do with the holes?

Should be pretty easy. Biggest issue if any would be getting the cab to the truck based on where they have it(stairs, doors, etc). Good luck and don't forget to post pics!

The CRT is heavy, it'll create the tipping point when you lean it onto the back of the tailgate as gradual mentioned. Cab may want to kick out a bit if your not near the center of the weight when you pick up from the bottom, so beware. That MK Midway cab is a little beast, very solid (= heavy).

Of course open up the back and make sure boards are securely mounted and no random crap is laying around.
