The first one features an all-musical roster. My current dream-roster for this, currently called "Untitled Broadway Fighter", includes:
* Mr. Todd and Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd
* Hedwig Schmitt-Robinson, Tommy Gnosis, and Yitzhak from Hedwig and the Angry Inch
* Phantom Leach, Swan, Beef, and Phoenix from Phantom of the Paradise
* Frank, Rocky, Riff Raff, Magenta, and Columbia from Rocky Horror
* Cosmo McKinley, Nation McKinley, Nurse Ansalong, and Burt Schnick from Shock Treatment
* Elphaba Thropp, Glinda, Boq, Fiyero, Madam Morrible and The Wizard from Wicked
* and possibly more
The second one is similar to the first, but with a fantasy theme, covering every fantasy world from Oz, Wonderland and Neverland, to Middle Earth, Narnia, and even the worlds of Harry Potter, Labyrinth, Mirrormask, Legend, Neverending Story, et al. It originally evolved from an Oz vs Wonderland scenario, but Oz had an unfair advantage with over 40 books compared to Wonderland's two. The current roster is:
* Jareth, Sarah, Hoggle, Metal Goblin, and Ludo from Labyrinth
* Nome King, Wicked Witch, Glinda, Ozma, Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman and Cowardly Lion from Oz
* Alice, White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, and Cheshire Cat from Wonderland
* White Witch, Prince Caspian, and other from Narnia
* Gandalf and other from LotR
* and too many to list
Obviously, all the sprites would have to be modified for the sole purpose. But with the right amount of conviction and dedication, this could work. I mean, anything to see The Wicked Witch of the West fighting the White Witch of Narnia, or even Hedwig Schmitt fighting Frank N. Furter.
Idea for two MUGEN-based fighting games
Re: Idea for two MUGEN-based fighting games
The fantasy one will likely be easier if you don't mind using other people's works. I'm pretty sure I've seen a handful of the characters you named for it on the web. Good luck with the first though, you're gonna be making all of them from scratch.

Actually, for that, I'm outsourcing the work and giving the respective creator(s) credit. Then I'll assemble all the stuff myself.Ack wrote:The fantasy one will likely be easier if you don't mind using other people's works. I don't think I want to know who you hired and what you paid them to do that...

Pay?!!?! If I could PAY people, then I sure as hell could pay to just have a REAL version of the game made and released for consoles.Ack wrote:I don't think I want to know who you hired and what you paid them to do that...

The Broadway fighter sounds really fun, but I want a playable Angel from Rent, complete with santa suit, heels, drumsticks and all sorts of crazy spin moves
Re: Idea for two MUGEN-based fighting games
Actually, I was thinking all EIGHT characters from RENT. And while Angel sounds gr8, IMO Mark would be a gr8 character as well.Pullmyfinger wrote:The Broadway fighter sounds really fun, but I want a playable Angel from Rent, complete with santa suit, heels, drumsticks and all sorts of crazy spin moves
And Angel would probably be an edited Chun Li, cuz they both do lots of flips and stuff.

Nome King but no TikTok? If you do this, please have Captain Fyter as an alternative costume for old Nick Chopper.

Actually, TikTok was implied.fastbilly1 wrote:Nome King but no TikTok? If you do this, please have Captain Fyter as an alternative costume for old Nick Chopper.
