Will GTA V fit on one disc on the xbox 360?
i own both an Xbox 360 and PS3, but i much prefer to play cross platform games on the xbox. I'm wondering how the heck Rockstar is going to fit such a massive game on a DVD and it would really kill the immersion if you have to switch discs in the middle of the game. My theory is yes it will have to come on 2-3 discs but it will allow you to load those discs onto your hard drive so you never have to switch. what are your thoughts?

Max Payne 3 is 2 discs. I'm sure it'll have to be multiple.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, if you cant install to the hard drive ill just have to get it on the ps3. Rockstar is capable of working mericles, just look at san andreas.

Xbox 360 is starting to get to the same place PS1 was later in its life. Lots of multi-disc games because the format was becoming obsolete.

Is it really that much of a hassle?

Only if you have to load a new disc when going from city to city, if its just once midway through the campaign no not really but its probably enough to make me choose the ps3 version. I just hate the ps3 controller i feel like i have giants hands when i use it.Pulsar_t wrote:Is it really that much of a hassle?

Star Ocean was a big offender here. The discs divvied up the planets but late game you wanted to go back and visit early game planets for crafting materials, so you had to do a lot of disc swapping.Pulsar_t wrote:Is it really that much of a hassle?
I suspect GTA V will have a bad disc swapping problem, as the largest consumer of space these days is your texture data. Unless they change the general GTA paradigm by permanently locking off previous areas when you unlock new ones.

I find it a tad bit humorous that you're worried about "killing the immersion" in a game where you'll be doing drive-by's in a golf cart in the middle of a police chase.ninjainspandex wrote:i own both an Xbox 360 and PS3, but i much prefer to play cross platform games on the xbox. I dont know about you but if im in a highspeed chase from the law andi cross a bridge and get told to insert disk 3 that would kill it for me, sure its fine in a long rpg or some long liniar fps but not in an open world type of game where your going back and forth between zonesOpa Opa wrote:I find it a tad bit humorous that you're worried about "killing the immersion" in a game where you'll be doing drive-by's in a golf cart in the middle of a police chase.ninjainspandex wrote:i own both an Xbox 360 and PS3, but i much prefer to play cross platform games on the xbox.
